Thanks to John and everyone at Akuma for getting my brakes fixed on my Legacy and the oil pickup install on the STi. Got it done and it works awesome, and a great looking location. The GTR was sawwweeettt in the showroom. Highly Recommended!

Default Akuma Motorsports - Great Shop

Let me start off by saying that the bunch at Akuma are great. Compared to what they work with daily, my car is far from interesting or glamorous. They see GTRs daily and highly modified Subies/Mitsus/Mazdas come thru their shop. I wasn't even sure if they would bother working on my car. I probably have the cheapest and lowest powered car that has come thru their shop.

About 2 months ago, I blew my engine at Pocono. Rod bearings 1 and 2 had gone, most likely due to oil starvation. I limped the car over to their place and dropped by to talk about options. A swap was out of the question due to regulations and rules. I didn't want to bump up classes with EMRA. In short, a new short block was ordered. I had them install a bunch of other things like the clutch, motor mounts, and phenolic spacers. All the gaskets got replaced and the heads decked and checked. A few issues with the heads cropped up but nothing major and they worked thru them with me. John was always very upfront about everything and answered any questions I had.

I live around the corner from Akuma and would come to hang out regularly. Its fun to see the different cars that come into the shop and they're constantly working on something interesting. Watching a Dyno pull for a GTR is nuts. I even got to meet Robi from Robispec when he dropped by during the Redline TA Event at Englishtown. That was a fun experience. They always welcomed me and let me hang out. I still drop by regularly and they've been done with my car for about 2 weeks.

500.0 Miles on the new engine

I would definitely recommend these guys.

Thumbs up Akuma motorsports

Buddy of mine and I drove 9.5 hours to get to Akuma to get his Evo 8 sorted out and tuned, Im posting this review on his behalf(non nasioc guy). As parts started going on the car we ended up with more issues than what was originally told to John (my fault!! sorry John!) but John and the guys at Akuma, being true professionals, took it in stride and made it happen anyway.

I cant say enough about how great these guys are. We were in a bind that we didnt feel comfortable with any other tuner any closer, and recognized John as one of the best, bar none. John recognized we were making a trek and really went out of his way to take care of the car, even when parts failures caused what was going to be mostly a day job turn into an overnight job. I tend to be detail oriented, and with alot of shops you have to go over and over whats going on and getting done and just hope it comes out right. I probably said the same thing so many times John was about to kill me but it wasnt needed. He understands what he is doing you dont have to go over anything. Tell him what you need and it happens while you relax on a couch and watch a movie(or sleep in OR scrubs ).

His evo runs fantastic now, and Ill be making the drive again with my car and cars of friends to get the same treatment in the near future for sure.

You wont be disappointed with Akuma. A+

Default Broken Motorsports - Union City, NJ

I brought my car to Bill + Vince last week for a timing belt service. Bill performed the work well and his expertise made me feel more comfortable with my car in his care. Rates are very reasonable. Now my car is running as smooth as ever.

However, my recommendation of Broken Motorsports really comes down to how they treat their customers. You'll never feel unwanted or out of place around Bill. That's what sets them apart from most other garages. They're professionals who enjoy their work and the people who surround them.

Broken gets an A+ in my book.

Smile Broken Motorsports _ Union City NJ

Vince and Billy took very good care of us on the timing belt for the FXT "from hell". The car put up a good fight, but they put her back on the right track.

We will be back.

Thanks guys greatly appreciated.

3rd time at AZP for my 60k and springs. Poor Jake was working all day in the cold shop (get the damn heat working!) but still took his time to make sure everything was done correctly on my car. Thanks man.

I've mentioned both AZP Installs and DarkStar Motorsports in here before, but I thought I should add some more, since I have gotten more work done at both places.

Last year, AZP helped me get my coilovers in.

Last week, DarkStar put in a complete timing belt kit and replaced my vacuum lines. Yesterday, DarkStar helped me figure out where to run my brake ducts. They really made the install clean and made sure that I shouldn't have any problems rubbing through the ducts anywhere.

Both places get the work done with professional results for less than the bigger shops charge, but they still know how to do a lot of different work and do it right. It's just a bonus that I also enjoy hanging out with these shops while the work is done, BSing about Subarus and track days.

Default AZP Installs

About a month and a half ago I went to AZP to take my stock 04 Wagon to Stg 2(uppipe/downpipe) and also do hid headlights/fogs along with the 60k service.

All I can say is, they are GREAT! Everything was done 100% right, the car was treated as one of their own at the shop. The outcome is great, besides the added power, the car feels smoother and the drivetain quieter after going 100% amsoil.

You guys can do some work on my GTO ?

AZP just did my brakes again, and handled 2 more bolts being seized in the calipers. I'm glad I can trust them to deal with bolt issues on my calipers, so I don't have to!

Just got my 2nd FXT back from Broken Motor Sports and I cant say enough how happy I am with the work they did. I have dealt with a lot of shops both local and far away, and Broken Motor Sports is high up on the list of A+++ places around. The work is awesome and the way they treat you is 2nd to none. They will be putting together my fast FXT soon as well.

Smile Huge Thanks to AZP!

Just wanted to once again promote and let everyone know about the great quailty, time and effort AZP Installs puts in for its customers! I've been a long time old customer of theirs since 2001 and always have done great work and taken the time to fix the issue and get it done correctly. No matter how long or how late it gets, they are always trying to troubleshoot and figure out the problem and solve it. They had quite a challenge with my car over the past couple weeks, but after exhausting all options, it's fixed and running like new again! So I really wanted to say thanks again to everyone over at AZP, especially to Frank since he wouldn't quit and give up when nothing seemed to work! I know he hates my car and never wants to see it again! HA!

Definitely recommend AZP Installs for your Subaru needs!

Thumbs up Akuma Motorsports -- Great work & Great People!

I recently got my Coilovers installed, Fenders rolled, Alignment and wheels fitted by Akuma Motorsports.

WOW! They did a great job and worked incredibly hard on the car to make sure everything was perfectly dialed in!

Every little detail and aspect of what would be a typical install they shared details with me and let me know exactly what was going on! Even more so about how meticulous they were about getting the car just right to where I was happy with the ride height ect.

John even showed me his TA Sti he was taking to Redline, put it on the lift and let me checkout underneath the car and everything. You can tell he really cares about what him and his shop does!

Went down this past weekend and met up with them at the Redline Time Attack event in Millville, so chill, talked to us, showed us the car and talked about the track and setup with us, just good people!

I have certainly been converted to a returning customer from just one visit.
+1 for Akuma Motorsports

Default My Dave Brown @ M.S.P.T Experience

ok so i am creating this thread because prior to my tune i couldnt fine much info on ppls experience at MSPT ... so i met with dave brown yesterday.. they did a good job installing the prodrive 3 port bcs n replaceing the hoses.... dave then hooked up his labtop to my car... checked a few things and reset the boost map for the bcs... he then took it on the road for a good 30 minutes... it might be longer.... when he came back my car definately sounded more rugged.. the rumble and growl was meaner... he set the boost target to 16.5. This was noticeable everytime i went WOT. he changed up the fuel trim.. before i could be cruising at 14:1 but now i notice when crusing it goes right to 12:1.. at WOT it doesnt go over 10.9:1... before it was 10:0
