Default $2000 incentive on 05 Legacy.

I kind of feel if I don't buy one now for around $24-$25k for a limited, I am not going to pay around $28-$29k for an 06 in a few weeks when the last of the 05s are gone.

I think I am ready to step up from the Impreza (30 yrs old now). I can see myself in a more comfortable cruiser with some balls, something the ladies might appriciate more (interior/comfort wise). But I am just not sure with the 06 Imprezas looking increasingly enticing as the time nears.

Does anyone have any advice. I know some must have payed much more for their LGTs. Any thoughts on going from a WRX to a LGT?

Ive driven them both, and I dont mean to disparage the WRX(and I havent even seen in person let alone driven an 06) but it feels like a tin can compared to the LGT, a slower tin can.

I enjoy my Lady Friends 2005 Legacy GT Trubo. She bought it when they first came out.
We both love blowing away 5.0 Mustangs... It's a sleeper, what with no Turbo Badges...

I'd go 05,,alot of guys are getting super prices on the 05s now that the 06s are out.The diff tween the 05 to 06 is negligable IMHO.

I just bought a 2005 White on black LGT limited yesterday. It was the last one on the east coast!

Known differences between 2005 and 2006:
-Cloth interior is no longer available
-Interior color choices are gone altogether
-White, Atl Blue and Regal Blue get a Taupe interior with woodgrain
-Black, silver, and red get the charcoal interior
-2006 has chrome trimmed headlights instead of black (generic and ugly in my opinion)
-Wheel center caps have 6-star logo for 2006
-2006 has no cat. converter in the uppipe
-2006 mileage increased from 19/25 to 20/26
-Navigation only available with an auto transmission in the sedan only

If you like the charcoal interior more than the taupe (with woodgrain), you'd better go buy a 2005 model TODAY. I was set on a white car with black interior, but this combination does not exist in 2006. I don't know what SOA was thinking when they decided to take these options away. My dealership is already receiving complaints about this, and people are buying up the remaining 2005's quickly for this reason!

No cat in the up-pipe for 06 huh, does that affect performance in any way.

I doubt it. Some claim that the turbo might spool earlier, but who knows. It does appear that gas mileage is improved slightly from 19/25 to 20/26 for 2006 models.
