Default Those with the MRT Turbo back exhaust

I just recieved my exhaust and I remember reading somewhere that you had to cut the stock heatshield to fit the downpipe. Was there some sort of instructions or template that came with the exhaust? I may have thrown it away accidently when I unpacked my exhaust and I can't find it.

Thanks in advance

Default MRT

My MRT turbo back came with a 4 page instruction sheet, which had a couple of "dim" pictures of how to trim the upper and lower heatshields. I'm running an uppipe, so I don't have a lower shield to trim. Its hard to make out where they want you to trim it in the pic. The upper shield needs to be trimmed on the right side. Basicly you start trimming at the top where the down pipe comes out of the shield, and then go striaght down the right side, eliminating the rear mount point which the MRT does'nt have. I think you're going to have to do a little trial and error fitment here. Good luck - Chris

Did you use all the stock hardware to install the exhuast? Or did you need special gaskets and bolts?

Can some one tell me if the stock gaskets and bolts work on the MRT system? I want to go collect everthing before the install.

Default MRT hardware & gaskets

My MRT system came with gaskets and hardware for the downpipe to mid, and mid to rear section. The stock gasket for the turbo to down pipe is a steel gasket, and with care is reusable. The stock downpipe to turbo nuts are reused, as are the mount bolts from downpipe to tranny, and from mid to middle body mount. Hope this helps - Chris
P.S. use hi temp antiseize on alll bolts and studs if you ever want to take this apart again... Also soak all bolts and studs(turbo) with wd-40 or some such penetrating lube for about 30 mins before trying to dissassemble!
