Angry A friggin Antelope!! Need parts source...

First the good news, oh wait, there isn't any. So I'm driving home, 2 a.m. from work, been driving this dirt road for 15 years and have NEVER seen an Antelope out during the night, only deer. When out of the tall grass comes bounding this big buck pronghorn not 5 feet from my right front bumper. I have just enough time to think "oh *****", but not enough time to actually do it, and BAM! Now, I'm in lock up mode (yes even with abs) and beginning to slide the nose left and the tail around to the right, and in the one remaining high beam, all I can see is this critter upside down, hovering about 4 feet over the road and gaining distance from my windshield in an utterly fascinating slow motion fashion. I come to a stop almost completely sideways in the road (now I know how that subie driver in the race/crash video felt sliding along) and notice the engine is still running with no strange new noises. Yey. I back up, and turn back to my side of the road and set the brake. I can see that the hood is now a good 1 foot taller at the pointy end than it was yesterday, and after inspection discover I now need the following for sure: 1 used hood any color; 1 used grill; 1 used passenger side headlight mount; 1 used passenger side headlight housing, 1 used passenger side turn light assembly; and possibly 1 used passenger side quarter panel. All for a '91 Scoob Legacy LS that I paid $500 dollars for 3 weeks ago. I am major league annoyed at this juncture. No leaks from this, so since I bought it for the gas mileage, yes I want to fix these items. Any suggestions on a source for OEM and NON-OEM body parts??? And the thing was clean with no dings, oh I am so not happy.

Ebay would be a good start for lights and grill. Id try local junkyards for the hood and quarterpanel.

I'm on the High Plains of Colorado, and commute down to Denver. Tried Google searching Junkyards before I posted. more requests for Scoob parts than parts available in my area, but will continue to look.

If anyone has a good junkyard in colorado with subie parts I want to hear about it too. I'd like to find me a hood as well.

Sorry to hear about that! It may be cheaper to just find a crap legacy on craigslist.org or something for $100 that isn't running and yank all the parts off and junk it (or sell the parts online for some money).

www.fsautoparts.com - Subaru only salvage yard in Connecticut. They certainly aren't close to you, but it's an option. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a similar place out your way somewhere, as I would imagine Subarus are relatively popular across the snow belt.

Sucks about the car.

Had to laugh at your thread title, though. I've never heard of someone hitting an antelope.

Thanks all, working on it. Still kinda new on the forum, "PM" ??? Don't know what or how, but will check the faq's today and figure that out. As for salvage, yeah would rather go that way, but If I have to I'll get the gen subie parts place. Still beats a dealer for the headlight assembly eh? Don't feel strange, been driving in Colorado since the 70's and I never heard of anyone hitting an antelope either. Nobody has. I'm thinking a coyote or something spooked this buck and he was just running from it. They are usually smart enough to be asleep at night and not on the road. Gloom, despair, agony on me.

Oh, and the gal with the hood for sale, it's a 2002. Don't think it would fit a '91 but thanks for thinking of me.

I got most of those parts, shipping from PA is a bummer for the big stuff but I can ship the grill, headlight and maybe a fender. The hood is oversize, I think.
