Ok, first, you have a fair amount of research to do. The application of WI is somewhat straightforward from a theoretical perspective, more complex from a tuning persective, and catastrophic for your engine (potentially) if you run into problems.

So... please search and read and read and search and then post. But in brief:

1. you can't just throw on or hook up a WI system. You need to tune for it, otherwise you'll slow your car down. The exception to that would be if you are running into det problems, but in that case I would recommend figuring out what was wrong before going for WI.
2. it's not hooked up to the intake (again, more research), you put the jet/nozzle/etc. after the intercooler before the throttle body. This can be done drilling and tapping the intercooler or purchasing a special throttle body hose with built in jets.
3. the basic WI system requires some sort of controller (ranging from advanced injection control, such as Aquamist solutions to a simple boost switch -- a pressure activated switch), a pump (e.g., Shurflo 8000, etc.), hose line to the jets, a water/alky source, and, preferably, some sort of safety mechanism (ranging from Aquamist safety features at the high end to a simple "low water" sensor to a flow meter swtich), and, must importantly: TUNING.

WI is not for everyone. But it is a blast when you have it set up correctly.

scooter- you can install in the intake. i have seen it and felt it first hand. it seems to help very well with any heat soak issues. you can just throw it in but you wont feel the true benefit from it.

Well, there is in fact a discussion started in the Aquamist thread on the engine management pages regarding pre-turbo post-intake injection done with a specialized collar. This would be done for specific pursposes linked (in my limited understanding) to maximizing turbo efficiency. But of course you'll want a very fine mist of water; with water hitting the turbo blades and all.

As for just throwing WI on, generally, without tuning, you are runing the risk of going way too rich and loosing power. I'm not a WI tuner, but that's what's more likely than not to happen from everything I've read. Don't believe me, well, there are dyno results to that effect out there.
