Default PROBLEM w/New Turbo Upgrade

ok i had a turbo on before. i just installed a td04 turbo (wrx) now when i drive its fine but when i come to a stop the car stalls. i pulled a code from the scanner..... PO141- o2 heater malfunction. could that be the reason for my stalling?

Well if the O2 heater isn't working that would throw your O2 sensor readings all off wack so yes that could certainly could cause stalling.

well, put your old turbo back and see if it stalls... why would swapping just a turbo break an o2 heater ?

that would be easy, but the flanges are different. lots of cutting and welding involved!!!!! takes about 7 hrs to do the swap. and its not my shop to have ease of access!

You have an 02 sensor code, it is not likely caused BY the turbo. You could have damaged it while doing the swap.

Perhaps your EGTs are getting too hot and also causing the sensor to malfunction. Most likely the 02 sensor is bad.

Replace the sensor, clear the DTC and try again. I don't think swapping the turbo will do anything for you.

I agree. Farrell, have you ever messed around or used octane boosters or race fuel? That will kill an O2 sensor fast. Also check the wireing for the o2 sensor... there might be heat damage.
