Question Paint Questions

If you guys could paint your car any color what color would you paint it? I ask this because I've done some bodywork on my car and the main color of it right now is bondo and quite frankly looks like ****. My girlfriend and I came up with an idea and I'll run it by you guys to see what you think. This my sound a little, dare I say it, "ricey" but I think when its all said and done it will look pretty good. I'm thinkin a jet black paint job then the subaru logo on the hood in STI pink and a pink strip at the belt line the gets wider as it goes back with the STI logo at the end. What do you guys think, what would you guys do?

If I were to actually paint my car, I'd go with either Audi Nogaro blue or BMW Estoril blue.

If I were to repaint my car, I'd do it the same color (Birch White) because the paint sucks. My next choices would be blitzen red, and jet black.

I think you should go with the jet black color, but scrap teh sti pink lines/logos. clean > rice.

Remember if you choose a darker color any small imperfections in the body will be magnified. Stick with a lighter color if your body work is not top notch. Also steer away from the logo/pink strip. Rice or not it is just the current trend and in 2 years you will wake up every morning and kick yourself square in the ass for spending your hard earned money on a pink graphic.

But it is your car and your money so do what you think looks good.

If you want to do this, I suggest black, but a very dark silver color for the stripe and logo. It's much more subdued.

I've seen a black truck with silver type flames, but it was a dark silver flame, almost the color of the body paint. I thought it was pretty cool. It has the nice graphic look, but doesn't stand out like a sore thumb.

The pink color is very cool for the Subaru community, but for the rest of the world, they don't get it. It might look a bit ghey.

+1 for Audi's Nogaro Blue. That and BMWs steel grey #400 (There's a STI on the boards painted this color) are by far my favorites.

i'm a fan of flat black, but maybe that only looks good on muscle cars?? of course if you wanna be "different" i would say go for a Grabber Green paint job with Hugger Orange stripes

I like the Benz's black, it very deep with little variance in it-if you ever look at it, i mean-that color is black, no real hint of slate, grey, purple of dark blue. I do like the Audi's nogaro blue though.

Or I would go with a simple very bright white, and i woujld want all the trim and side mirrors white too hard to keep clean but-it would look really good with my tinted windows

Call me strange, but I really LOVE the brown that came on the legacy's in 96'ish?? Its a deep chestnut/mahogony brown with some pearl effect. Not flash at all, but classy none the less.

Personally, I dont think I would paint a car differently then it's stock color. The one exception being if you get a stellar paint job where they do the enitre body, ala the door jams, under the bonnet, etc...

Chevy dark spiral grey. Not sure what the "spiral" is about, but it's a really dary grey, kinda like the Lexus color already posted.

Or if you want to go really crazy, how about something from www.alsacorp.com - they have some truly awesome paints/coatings.

I like that Audi Blue, but I think if I were to paint a car ANY color and it was going to be a full on paint job (ie: strip the car and then paint it) I would go for the silver color that Prodrive had on a show car at SEMA or something like that. I'll try and find a pic. Either that or the blue that BMW has for current M3s.

I think this guy has a fricken hilarious idea. He's part of the Colorado State University Car Club. His car is painted with chalkboard paint:
