Default JDM/EDM wheels help?

OK, I know our stock wheels on the 02/03/04 cars SUCK, and I know that other markets have gotten very limilar designs, but in 17"s instead. Can someone please help me with which each of these 2 are:

I like the first one with the extra detail along the rim. Where do you get these rims?

Thanks,
Ben

The first set is the Ver7 GDB wheel in 17x7.5" +53mm. Fit over Brembos.

The second set is a Ver7 GGB(RIP) wheel in 17x7" +55mm. These will not fit over Brembos, but will fit over non-Brembo 4pots. You will be hard pressed to find these wheels in gold anywhere. They have been released on various Subarus in gold, silver, champagne and smoke grey.

ss

Edit: Offset on the 17x7 is +55mm not +53mm

OK, so these are the ones I want (and the fact they fit over brembros and are wider explains why most pictures are of these over the other ones), but where can I get them?

Thanks,
Ben

Well, the other source i can think of right now would be Kingpin, but they're no more "dependable" than jdmpartstx because both places need to source the parts in Japan and import it. Don't wait too long though since it said on the jdmpartstx site that they wouldn't be importing the v7 STi wheels after afew more shipments.

Right, both of these places primarily deal in used takeoff parts and you cant control the used parts market. You could try to have them ordered new from a JDM dealer but expect to pay about $2000 for them.

i've bought from them before, you can e-mail them ask if they have the wheels in stock. if they do, they'll send it out right away and you would have them within a week (depending on where you live of course). they are reliable.

I got mine from www.jdmpartstx.com and they were in new condition and even came with a good set of rubber on them. Little easier for me since I was in Dallas, I just did pick up so no need to worry about shipping. It did take a while to get the V7s in, but the results were well worth it.

I got mine from this man, who I believe got them off the Yahoo Japan auctions. There is usually a few sets on there but it looks very confusing to buy from.

If you're talking about buying parts from JDMPARTSTX being confusing, I'm confused why you'd say that. We answer questions immediately, offer AOL IM real time help and walk folks through every step. Ordering is as difficult as sending cash through paypal... that's not hard at all!

Try the "How to order" tab also

No his confusion is from teh Japanese Yahoo Website he mentioned, and I think that's because it's not in english (or even engrish!) and it's probably not even in USD either...

I'm just worried on finding someone who will have them in stock in the spring as I have one more winter left on my snows before I goto 2 sets of 17"s

CGM is talking about me I believe. I bought a set of champagne 17x7" +53mm wheels from the JDM. I loved the wheels but the color was no good on my car. Every once in a while I get JDM parts but I dont really get them to sell so much as try them on my car. I did get them through the Yahoo!Japan auctions but you have to be real sure what youre buying because the whole process is $$$$.

JDMPARTSTX is dependable reseller of JDM parts AFAIK also.

Why do the stock wheels on the 2.5 RS/WRX SUCK? Yeah, it would be nice if they were 17's, but they are decent-looking and very lightweight for a stock wheel.

Because they are ugly as hell. and 16"s suck for cornering. I Don't know if it's because the first WRXs I saw had 17"s or what, but I think our 02/03/04 USDM wheels were VERY ugly. Pre 02 were much better looking IMO.

That and the black sideskirts were just rediculous IMO.

I am confused as to how anyone who actually read my post could come up with that conclusion?

The ugly part is subjective (I don't think they are too bad), but given equal width, how are 17's better for cornering than 16's?
