Default Help Please!!

I just installed my cobb catback. Everything looks fine. However, between the cat and the midpipe, it's leaking. Why is this happening? Is that oil leak? What should I do? Please help me out!

Thanks in advance!

Angel

if you have an exhaust leak.. the black soot-like stuff is carbon buildup from driving around with the leak. tighten the flanges, or replace the gaskets. if its a crack just get it welded shut. have the carbon cleaned off and you are good to go.

or. you have an oil leak somewhere on the engine or oil drain pan and it is spraying oil back onto your exhaust system as you drive. First thing to check is the oil drain plug. sometimes the crush washer gets bent wrong and oil leaks out of the plug area.

Hi Pat, thanks for your reply. It's dripping some "water-like" liquid. Also, when I tried to tighten the 2 spring bolts, they can't go as tight as with the oem midpipe. Is that a problem too?

Condensation is a byproduct of combustion. so you definately have a leak right where you are seeing it. is there a gasket between them? did you re-use it? or did cobb give you a new one? something isnt sealing.

I reused the donut gasket cause it looks fine to me.

I thought that I can reuse the donut if it's not in a terrible condition.

but I had a new one handy as well!
