05 sti exhaust on 92 ss

Like the title says - will a 05 sti tbe fit on a 92 legacy 2.2t. Is it a bolt on or is there a little work to make it fit? I will be hollowing out the cats.

I put a 05 STi catback on my 97 Legacy. It was not a bolt on procedure. I had to move all three hangers that were on the muffler. I left the hanger on the mid pipe in place. Doing so made it clear the rear axle fine but I had to extend the tip to get it to the bumper. And the mid pipe had to be extended. Some of that may be true on your car as well, maybe not.

It is NOT a direct fit.

I have a WRX exhaust on mine (but didn't put it on myself, bought it like that) and from what I know, one of the pipes will need to be extended about 3 inches and maybe a hanger or two relocated.

Thanks for the replys, I did figure there would be a little cutting and welding. MY BIGGEST QUESTION -Does the turbo down pipefrom the sti fit and work onto the 2.2t with out problems. Thanks Again Joel

Why? They're essentially the same. You're just paying for new cats and a different muffler tip basically.
