Question High Octane Gas in Eastern Iowa?

Hello all,

I am thinking about getting an STi next year. I have been recently reading many threads about the STi requiring 93 octane or higher gas.

All of the stations I have seen here in the Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas and Iowa City all have 91 as Premium. You can get 92 octane at Amoco BP stations.

Anyone know where to get 93 or higher octane in this area or will I needed to use an octane booster? Do they make unleaded octane boosters?

Thanks for any help,

Car Dude

Post May have found one - still looking for others

I discovered at least one. A Mobil station on 1st St in Cedar Rapids. Hopefully there are more Mobil (or other) stations around that carry 93 octane.

This was over the phone so I have yet to verify, might do some more looking tomorrow.

Anyone else know of anymore?

The STI as well as the WRX only "requires" 91 to run, but runs better on 93 or higher.

Cool As Good As It Can!

I would like to have my car run as good as it can , after paying over 30 grand for it!

I am kind of anal about this (and most other things).

I will only put 92 octane in the Outback XT I have now and only put 92-93 octane in the 02 WRX I used to have.

Thanks for the info,

Sams Club has 93 octane...they rape you on prices if you aren't a member though.

P.S. we should try and set up a CR/IC meet and greet this fall sometime

Lightbulb Great Idea!

Thanks for the info!

I am a member of Sams Club and never even thought about looking there!

I kind of get "set in my ways". I am so used to buying Amoco gas that other station's have temporairly slipped my memory.

An CR/IC meet and greet would be cool. I have never been to one before.
