Default Whose RS-T at Canadian Import Nationals?

My friends saw a really nice rally blue turboed RS at CIN in Calgary this weekend. Who was it??

schlong8 - Chris, that's acutally Mike Lieu's car. Only prob is that it's not done very well. Blew his engine even w/ a TEC2, his car can't rev past 5K, and no-suspension, brake work has been done. Only thing visually distinctive on it is the knock off Apex-i body kit (w/Mine's style decals), fibreglass 22B wing and 18" Racing Harts.

Just as an FYI, HOK's RS with one blown piston and running 7psi was matched in terms of acceleration & speed of Mike's car when the engine was healthy.

Jack, Id be careful as to what you say. You dont know why his motor blew do you?

Im also pretty sure its a genuine apex body kit on his car.

No one that ive talked to has even seen HOK's so called super car. And what about your car? Your friends at RPM laughed when I told them what you said you had on it. If you show us photos/timeslips Ill beleive you. However, you haven't been able to produce 1 ounce of proof for either of these cars. Id really keep your mouth shut until you can back up your statements. I don't see you hand building turbos from scratch. I was very impressed by what Mike was able to do...

1) Mike and I started talking before he went turbo, and I've been in contact with him since. Infact, I was the one who told him to get the used TEC2 he has in his car now when he went on vacation to Florida a year or two back. As for the Apex-i Kit, if you've seen the real one, you'll notice a few differences. I'm not sure if it's just b/c of the wear or a bad paint job, but it didn't look like the one that I've seen in Options.

2) If you're not observant, it's not my problem. HOK's car is a sleeper. It does roam the streets and is a daily driven car. If you don't believe me, feel free to ask Inpreza Kid. I showed him HOK's RS just last week. He'll tell you that he's seen this in person.

MANY guys down at RCS have seen his car in action. Infact, you're invited down to RCS this friday night to witness HOK's RS vs. a modded GMC Typhoon. Why don't you bring down your RS and go up against HOK's?

3) As for the guys @ RPM, they haven't seen under my hood. When I was there, I had the turbo system removed due to the fact I wanted to see if warranty covered my tranny (which was having some grinding noises since day one). The guys @ RPM are mainly bolt-on. Personally I wouldn't trust the with a wrench. Only some body work and little trinkets like lights.

4) I'm not putting Mike's car down by any means, I commend him on his DIY effort. So please get that fact straight.

5) As for your "proof" that you're asking for. You'll know when you get spanked. Not everyone is a "ricer" some people like to keep their cars as stealty as possible. I wonder who's RS was it that I saw which had a pink "STi" emblem w/o STi parts?

yep, hok's car is for real. i've seen it. haha, damn nice car. if you don't believe that this car is for real why don't you just take a look for your self? i'm sure he would be more than happy to show you.

1) I have no idea what you and mike talk about, nor do i care...

2) I don't know who Inpreza Kid is so that doesn't really help much. Is it you with another username on the board?

Id love to come down if the cars going to be there for sure. Let me know on Friday afternoon if it will be (ICQ or email me or something). Im not wasting $5 if you're not going to show up. If its got a turbo under the hood, why do you want me to race it? I never said my car could beat a turbo RS did I?

But if its real, thats awesome. Id love to go for a ride

3) Alright fair enough . Since you're selling the car and getting rid of the mods, shouldn't you show us the photos now? You always told me you don't like showing it off until its finished right? Shouldn't matter anymore should it?

4) "Only prob is that it's not done very well. Blew his engine even w/ a TEC2, his car can't rev past 5K, and no-suspension, brake work has been done. Only thing visually distinctive on it is the knock off Apex-i body kit " You're right. Thats not a knock. Thats commending him for a job well done. hehe

5) Once again, you bring up the fact that he wants to race me. Why? If its turbo'd, its pretty obvious who'd win right? . And for your information, it DOES have STi parts. That pink 'i' badge is genuine STI!!!!!! (though the stickers are cheap knockoffs)

I'm not sure if you know, but my car is now in the shop. It's been sitting there for almost 2 weeks now. I was originally thinking of selling it to start on another project.

Please note, effort and quality/outcome are two different things. I commend Mike on his efforts. But the outcome wasn't too good.
Unless in your dictionary both are synonymous. If that were the case, it'd be saying a failing student did great b/c of his efforts. What I'm saying is that it's great for the student to have given his best effort, but the outcome is not as good as expected with that effort.

I didn't say HOK wanted to race you, but you're the only one that doesn't believe the performance of his car. What better way to experience it first hand than being smoked by the car in question?

I was told to come and clear a few things so TADA!!!~! hehehe

anyways... For the record my car exists... at least i think so since i drive it everyday... I don't know why anyone would lie about owning a car or mods on it.. STUPID

you probably don't see it much since i'm stuck in a frickkin office all day... but as for performance... I guess its all relative as for fast or slow... but i don't think its a slow car

i pulled a 14.1 but that was with my intercooler pipe blowing in the last two or one sec... I think i can do high 13's on friday we shall see... but mainly I'm going this friday to gauge my new friends GMC TYPHOON!!!! his car is kick ASS... but mainly drag... (we met on the street drag) hehehe and he just put some new stuff on so he wants to try his car out on mine... (i'm really in for an ass woooopin)

But as for the car at the car show yes its mike's as far as i know me and him are the only two RS-T in Calgary since that white one got sold. But Mike's car is AWESOME... Though I don’t know him well, I really appreciate what mike is going through... i'd like to help him out with his car and/or learn with him... since mike and I, I feel are kindred sube spirits.. we’ve gone through the same S**T and humbling events… You guys are to worked up about other’s cars heehe. but mike and I are trying our best to get the most out of what we have. I really identify with him. His setup is pretty good I feel for a base… his problems I don’t believe is with the setup but rather with tuning…. I’ve always thought that tuning is the hardest and most rewarding part of modding cars. A little harsh there eh? GTBGUY

So tulit… what is so unbelievable about a RS-T stock look alike? No big deal… I know what I got I just don’t flaunt it, you know what I mean? Anyways… doesn’t really matter if 25 guys don’t believe its true. Because 50 others have had a ride. I don’t know why you are questioning its existence.. weird… hehe

This is like sube cannibalism hehehe. Calm down … sheesh calgarians… heheheheh (just kidding)

Hok...
We are all friends here no? :P

I believe mike is actually running AGX's with teins springs....I've see him rev past 5k and yes the car has been running pretty good lately....

GTBGUY - I've heard you talk and talk about this super legacy of yours and to be honest with you I don't believe a word you're saying. You can't even come up with pics or proper dyno charts. Why don't you just give this game up?

In short all I'm saying is...PROOF....where is it?

Exclamation Attention all in Calgary

HOK and I will be @ RCS this Friday night around 9pm. (So we can get in first to do some runs).

Inpreza Kid (aka Roland) will be coming along with me (unfortunately he couldn't bring his RS).

All AAWDC or I-Club members in Calgary and surrounding area are welcome to come

Maybe we can start a "whoop-ass" thread here too!

Freeman - The following were the words out of Mike's mouth this last Saturday @ CIN :
Quote:
Man, right now I can at least drive it. I can't rev past 5K very well though. The higher the boost, the slower my car runs! Fu*k, pretty weird eh?.... Yeah, I'm not going to race this car anymore, only my Supra... this is going to be more of a "street cruiser"
As for the TEIN/AGX combo, last time I saw him (b4 CIN, he only had stock suspension)

As for my Legacy, it's in the shop right now. (Body shop) It's pure and simple, the guys @ SOC have seen my car. I don't think need to "proove" it to you, I think I know what's in there... and if you don't believe, that's your choice not to believe. When you do get whoop'd on the Street by a Legacy, you'll know who it was

Better yet, the more ignorant people are, the better.... At least my car won't be vandalized by people who maybe jealous. (As I know of many "ricers" that have had their wings, kits, lights, wheels etc ripped off).

I had to return my car back to quasi-stock state b/c I wanted SOC to take a look at my tranny (as previously mentioned). My Legacy is a daily driven vehicle as well, so you might have seen it on the street. I'm not a ricer... I don't need a V5 wing or a universal "5Zigen" muffler to be noticed on the street

And FYI, this is a pic of my GT before going into the body shop. This is it's "quasi-stock" state :

freeman - Please READ the post carefully.

tulit - pics of the engine bay won't be available due to the fact that my car is indeed in the body shop. And as mentioned back earlier this year, the turbo system was removed due to the tranny issue. At this time I'm still talking to SoC about this.
This can be confirmed by both HOK, Inpreza Kid, and most of not all the Legacy guys on the board here.

GTBGUY, If you're claming to be the fastest Legacy in Canada I think you have to back up your claim... So yes you have to prove it to us. Show us a motor pic already...shessh...

So you're telling me, you did all that work to get that turbo in and not even one picture? whatever, I call bluff...

You said it yourself, IF, however, I never said I was.

Secondly, if you're the only guy working underneath the hood, I don't think you'll have time to both be wrenching and taking pics. Interesting concept though, wrench/rachet in one hand, camera in the other. A person must be pretty stupid to not concentrate on what they're doing under the hood/beneath the car and take pictures. Two things can happen :1) Forget about something, and when you lower the car off the jackstands something goes wrong when driving. or 2) wreck/damage a camera if something falls. Car's all flat, sockets do roll. I've had it happen to me before doing an engine swap on a Civic. Thank god I had safety glasses on.

Well I'm assuming that comment was related to Imprezer's car...You trying to imply that your car is as fast?

As for taking pictures while doing work on the car. How hard is it to take a break between your "engine work" have a drink and maybe take a few pictures...NOT VERY.....seems as though your story's keep changing....

You also must be implying that the people who post mod instructions... (note taking pictures while installing parts) pretty stupid huh?
ie.

Freeman - I'm not sure if you're dyslexic or something, if you READ the whole thread you'd know what was ment by the "whoop-ass" comment.

Also, what story is there to change? I personally don't like taking pictures of things that aren't done, even so, I only take pictures for insurance reasons (ie: serial #'s). When I do things, I do it from start to finish - until I'm done. Time is precious. You can't reverse it.

These are pics of my car...

I haven't taken any pics of the rebuilt... its looks different now with the EJ22t... but the fogginess of the engine bay is caused by the digital camera.... other than that the car looks stock except for the ride height ,,, i have adjust AGX and teins too..

but mike told me that he couldn't go past 5000 so thats what i heard... but i'm still thinking that its not a tuning problem because when i stuck a TC2 in my car i couldn't rev past 5000. Freeman if you see mike tell him if he has checked his ECU speedometer wire... if thats screwed up the car won't rev past 5000...

but yes i can confirm that the legecy is in the body shop.. but other than that i don't know anything else... i was in TO and hong kong for about a year... so i'm not getting in this pointless arguement hehe...

to be honest i wouldn't give a crap about what someone is lying about (if they were lying) since i'd just let them be in their own little insignificant world...

Besides who'd lie about having a turbo?!?!?!?!? Thats stupid. If you were to lie, lie about a 9 sec SUBE!!!@@ hehehehehe

HOK
