Legacy Grill Emblem...

So, in addition to being egged this weekend, my grill emblem also fell off (it was loose, as I had recently discovered that it was upside down and just flipped it back). Anyway, I can only find them for sale in one or two places (for $40+).

Does anyone know of a cheaper one / cross model compatibility / different or cooler emblems, or anything else I could do?

Please save me from printing one out and filling the hole with clear silicone!

!!!!!!!!!!!! YES DOOO ITTTT!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, these emblems are very expensive. I'm sure similar year Subaru's all have the same emblem, so maybe head out to a junk yard and snag one for 10 bucks or so.

Also, over on legacygt.com they had a buy on true "Legacy" emblems, which is two L's (looks kinda like (7L))... They are made for 05+ legacy, and I never got a confirmation as to fitament on prevous gen cars, but they look cooler and are about the same price. Might be worth looking into further.

I wonder if all the impreza guys who put those "I" badges in have old ones laying around that would fit?

That said, my mom's Forester badge is definitely larger.

Junk yard sounds like a good idea... in a city where Subarus outnumber Hondas, there should be something to be had!

If they fit, why not just get an "I" badge? They're considerably cheaper. I think my dad paid 20.00 for his "I" badge from the dealer compared to the 40-ish they wanted for the stock badge. The only reason he was even looking for one is because someone stole his stock badge

That's what I thought - or is it the 'i' from STI?

Uh, sure. Just tell them, "It's an STi badge. I'm just so po', I can't afford the 'ST'." .

To answer the orig. Q, a junkyard would be cheapest (just pry out the badge with a screwdriver -- maybe wrap it in tape to try and prevent a little damage to the badge). O.w., you can buy one of the "L7" badges shown in this thread.
