Default Question about swapping in JDM EJ20 turbo engine and gasoline requirements

Question to those who have attempted or successfully done this:

Anyone who has swapped a JDM WRX EJ20 turbo engine into their 2.5RS with all the wiring and ECU and stuff sucessfully, question about what kind of gasoline you run in it. I understand they usually require hi-octane JP gas which i thought was over 100 rating and since most gas stations here carry 93 octane at most, how do those ppl who have JP WRX engines deal, do they use octane boost? hunt for gas stations that sell racing fuel? use US hi octane and deal with pinging and knocking? Just wondering. Thanks

Ed

Premium in Japan is around 100RON.

Sunoco 94 is at least 98RON. So really, it's not as big a deal as everyone seems to think.

I don't think my STi V engine will have any problems, although I won't be wasting my time with a stock ecu..
