Wow, this is really tempting. Sounds really affordable for what it is.

Here's my concern: my car is an 02 WRX sedan, stock suspension, 18" wheels, OEM ground effects. I don't have offroad wheels or tires and have little ground clearance. Am I going to ruin my car?

ground clearance would be an issue.
i would email the organizers (paul) and see if there are cars available to drive.

some offer to 'share' their car... or he may have one you can 'use'

worth checking if you are interested

Besides the clearance issue, you really wanna show up with some kind of snow or rally tire. You'll have a lot more fun that way. There's been more than one super hopped up STI out there with the driver wishing he could get the horsepower to the ground.

Are you gonna make the trip down Jamie?

You going down for the one on the 18th?

I'll be like you, throwing the mudders in the back of the OBS and driving it down there. lol Hardly a rally car though.

Zap,
That's the plan.
Provided I don't break anything important at Wild West, I'm shooting for the rally-x dates on the 18th and 25th.

I should be down on the 18th also, provided I can swap the suspension out in time.

Here's a noob question: does a full-faced motorcycle helmet qualify ? It is only a year old.

Motorcycle helmets are OK if they have a Snell Certification. Snell M ratings or SA ratings are valid.

I'll be instructing too... freshly back from the Solo2 Nationals where I'm looking to make it two top 5 finishes in a row. Somehow I'll find the energy to drag myself back into a car.

Default Car insurance?

Everyone please check your insurance on your cars first.
Most companies will negate your insurance on TIMED events or "a full RallyCross competition on Sunday". It's the word "competition" that ruins it. I only say this because I know a friend that once rolled a wrx in one of these "schools" and it was on the last day when they were timing the event. So in the end his insurance DID NOT cover it. If it happened on the instruction days, then it would have been covered.
Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade.

I'm going down for sunday. I would have loved to go to the school, but prior commitments on friday prevent me from going Let me know when you're leaving, and we'll caravan down there (Although it may be a small caravan... lol)

Heh. We're taking two cars as I'm hauling at least one transmission down for someone. With you guys it'll at least be a three car caravan.

We're leaving about 5:30-6am sunday morning from my house to be in hillsboro by 8-8:30am. We can plan to meet at the 512/I-5 interchange at 6am if you like.
