Default TD04 boost control?

i have a rst. i put a td04 on as the turbo. i know on the wrx the boost is controlled by the computer(electronicly), and i know it can be put up to 19lbs. with out any boost controller it is naturally 6-7 psi. i put a manual boost controller on it and could only get it up to 8-9 psi. any tips or something im missing? looking to get 10-14 out of it. thanks

I thought the TD04 was set to 7-8 psi of boost naturally? Anyhow, it sounds like your MBC is leaking boost to the wastegate. What are you using for fuel mods, and what are you using to control fuel and timing? Thats alot of boost for a RS motor

The stock wastegate is set at 8.7 psi so i think you might have some vacume leaks and are taking away from the efficiency of the turbo. You said that you used a manual boost controler, if this did not work then the wastgate is prolly messed up.

Sounds like your MBC has a vaccum leak

how did you get the reading of 8.7 psi on the wastegate? Mine reads 6.5-7psi set wastegate on the TD04 using a turbine tester and an EBC

Are you at higher altitude than sea level? This might account for some gauge disparity.
