Default Drive your car on the greatest track in the Northeast!

If you've always dreamed of driving on the same track as the likes of Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti, Bobby Unser and Mark Donohue, NASA Northeast has the event you have been waiting for. On September 19 and 20, NASA Northeast, along with Driving Impressions, Partsquest.com and Raceshopper.com will be hosting a two-day High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) at world-famous Watkins Glen International Raceway in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York. Come up on Saturday and make a weekend of it. Tour the local vineyards or visit one of the many waterfalls in the area, besides driving fast, there are plenty of other things to do in the area.

If you have never been on a track before, classroom and in-car instruction are provided. NASAís HPDE program gives you and your car a safe and affordable way to get on the track. No speed limits, no pedestrians, but best of all, no tickets. You are provided with an experienced instructor to help guide you through the event, one on one, as you learn how to handle your car at the limit. Set your own goals and go as fast as you feel comfortable. Starting with HPDE, you can progress as far as you want, even up to wheel-to-wheel racing.

Watkins Glen is the ultimate track experience in the northeast. With admission just $200 per day or a discounted $350 for both days you canít afford not to go! As always, instructors run for free. There will be a prize raffle on Sunday with many valuable prizes provided by Driving Impressions (teamdi.com), RacerPartsWholesale.com, Partsquest.com, Raceshopper.com and others. NASA Northeast will also be raffling off a free track day to Lime Rock Park. Raffle tickets are free with your entry!

If NASIOC can get 10 paid 2-day entries we will give each driver 10% back in cash at the track! Just put down NASIOC as Sponsor on your entry!

The Glen has hosted a wide variety of racing competition including Formula One, Can-Am, Trans-Am, NASCAR and Indy cars. The Victory Circle at Watkins Glen has seen many of the top names in international motorsports. You too can drive on the track that created legends. See you there!

Watkins Glen is about 4.5 hours from NYC - You can mapquest to Watkins Glen and be within 2 miles of the track at the end.

It's as safe as the attitude you take out onto track with you. If you leave your ego in the paddock and listen to your instructor (who will be in your right seat!) you will be fine.

As far as passengers, no, only instructors may take them out. However, at lunch time WG closes to us and runs touring laps that they charge a small fee for. Your girlfriend could drive herself around then! We could definitely get her a ride with an instructor in any case.

At the end of the day Monday we do a guided course walk - she's welcome to do that too.
