Question Anyone have steel wheels for sale?

Hey all!

I'm looking to buy a set of steelies for the winter for my RS. Anyone have any for sale, new or used, or know of a good place to pick some up? Will any Subaru 15" wheel fit, or will it not clear the brakes?

If anyone can help, please do!!!!

Thanks!

I am also interested, possibly with snows on them as well. Subaru last year wanted $800 or more. Cheaper would be better.

I bought my 15" Forester Steelies (black) at Subaru Lachute for $65 plus tax (each).... They also sell the Forester Silver Steel rims (looks like a 5 stars rim) for $70....

I then bought my Michelin Artic Alpins at Costco for $115-120 with tax..

Everything came around $720...... with taxes.......

I'm also going to be needing a set for my WRX (The brakes may require a different rim for clearance?).

I have a set of Artic Alpins on steel rims from my old car that are in good shape. I'm either going to sell them as a package, or take the tires off and mount them on a new set of steel rims for the Subaru.

So, I may be looking for just rims, or rims and tires.

Thumbs up

Thats not too bad, Robin. Hmmmmmm....

I'll talk to Lachute. Maybe they'll be able to hook me up.

I think I'll be getting the Nokian Hakkan (or whatever they're called) tires this winter...all the Montreal guys swear by them!

GooseMan - Yup go with the Nokian Hakka's. Nothing can touch them in the winter. For max performance in snow/ice, go with the Hakka 1's or Q's. If you want something that'll last even used in late fall and early spring get the NRW's.

Default VW 5-bolt Steelies now fit Sube

At least one guy here in Vancouver has tried the new generation 15" 5-bolt VW Golf rims. He say's the bolt pattern is the same and the offset is within 5 or 10mm. Get'em while you can (he paid $50).

Meanwhile, local Sube dealers are asking $80+ for take-offs!

Good luck,

Bill

I bought my complete package for my 98RS for about $490, taxes in. Cooper Wintermaster tires wih studs and steel rims ($35 each). All from a guy here in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia--Dartmouth Surplus. He also has Pirelli Ice Tires for a few dollars more than the Coopers. Well worth checking in to. He may ship as well. The guy's name is Robert and their number is 902-468-5444. Tall him Jeff White gave you his name.
