JDM STI redline at 8ish due to its 2.0ltr motor. We have a 2.5ltr now

As for modding, Already have a TBE and bigger IC in my garage but IM trying to keep it stock...

exactly JDM Ver.7 & Ver. 8's redline at like 8K rpm, the 2.5L USDM STi should "not" be reved past 7500 rpm, regardless, slight oiling problem

note completely off topic, but the new WRX redlines at 6.5k, instead of the 7k the US 2.0's redline at? Any specific reason? I mean, the STi has always redlined at 7k RPM in the US... And now they are using vastly similar blocks... Sorry if this is a really newbie question.

The new WRXs have different heads, which I imagine are worse than the sti counterparts.

I love my JDM motor, I like winding it to the 8500 (about there) RPM fuel cut, unfortunately I need a turbo to make power up there.

Thanks for the quick response Capt!

And wRxbeater, enjoy your STi! Black + Gold is always one of my favorites (and is my current colour combo!)

Looks great! I love the new design. Good luck keeping your black car clean. I will never own a black car again. I would wash it and it stayed clean for about 17 minutes.

Did they gain any power out of the motor? Anything changed from 05? If not, why would the redline be lower.
