Default Has anyone checked spark plug gap on an 03

I have a manaul that says the gap should be 0.028-0.031". I went to the dealership and bought some plugs. They told me the gap was 0.045" and he said he looked it up right out of an 03 manual. I was wondering if anyone who has changed their plugs has checked the gap on the stockers?

I had a SUBARU dealer replace my plugs & the car ran like crap, especially under higher boost! I took it to PRUVEN performance & they said it didn't look like they even gapped them....just slapped them in, the plugs were between .045 & .049" They should have been .028" Purven gapped them @ .028" and the car ran great. My $.02 .
