Default Engine Management for a 2005 RS

I'm looking for engine management for my 2005 RS (MAF). My interest was sparked after reading about the PerfecntPower piggy back units as well as I-Speed's RS reflash (which showed about 10HP improvement on a 2.2L).

I am looking for engine management that will be able to tune both closed loop and open loop ranges (all RPMs).

Something like a Cobb Accessport would be ideal for the convenience of changing maps and custom tuning.

Anything out there like this for my car?

Perfect Power from www.rallitek.com

I believe thats your only option. There is something different about the new RS that cant use anything else. Or so ive heard.

And, if you're planning on running boost in an RS? UTEC?

UTEC is not designed to work with an RS ECU, so don't even try. Since you have an 05 your only option is to go wth the PP. I know when the PP first came out you were only able to tune it in closed loop, but since then they have been trying to make it so you can tune both open and closed loop. Not sure what the status of that is though. You should call Rallitek and ask them. The nice thing about the PP IMO is that you can have two different maps, and switch between them on a laptop. Plus with the ability to tune with a laptop, you can make small changes as you do more mods to the car, where as with a reflash you would have to do it all over again. If I'm correct I even read on the Rallitek forum that they are trying to work on taking out CEL coeds, and raising the rev limiter. But, like I said, give them a call and ask them everything you can about the PP. IMO it's probably the best unit out untill I-speed can get some maps made, and handle all the stuff that the RS owners would like.
