3) a "style" of tuning imitating the great looking/functional cars in option/bestmotring videos/etc

I was only mentioning 3). As in your car doesnt look like something any japanese tuners would come up with and be in one of those publications. Nasif's car does, dan avon's, the dude with the green bugeye, the guy with the blue worldone do-luck, even ferdie's widebody (even if opinions on it are mixed).

I wasn't putting down your car at all, you are probably focused on 1) and 2) I understand. I should have made it more clear that it does not qualify for 3).

On a forum like this where people show their cars off and especially if you post in that "battle of the jdm subarus" thread, I think everyone rates on criteria 3).

this post probably makes me look like a big ricer who only cares about appearance, but that was the only thing I was judging. The car doesn't look jdm.

I will say i was exaggerating though, it is not the "least" jdm looking car ever. However it is the least JDM looking car in relation to the amount/expense of JDM parts.

argh I probably sound like a prick, I just want to stand up up for myself and stand by my comment. Nothing personal and hopefully no harm okay?
First of all, no harm done and I am not mad at you

I know what you mean now, my car doesn't look rice enough, that is what you mean

I am going after the ultra clean JDM look, which a lot of tuner in Japan follow.

Here is HKS Kansai's damo car for Tokyo Auto Salon 2003, this should consider 100% JDM look right? And do you notice it look 100% the same as my car except the color?

Versus..........with your theory, the Mine's Demo R34 GTR must be very un-JDM looking too, because it's body is completely stock, it is just lowered with different wheels/tires:

Versus......I know what you mean now, to you, JDM look = all rice out, my car is going for the clean look, so it doesn't look JDM. Ok, I got it. I am glad my car doesn't look JDM then

This is what you mean by the JDM look:

True.

But same front lip, same fogs, same wheels...........

I was just saying if Versus say my car doesn't look JDM, then HKS Kansai's car doesn't look JDM either. But I don't think anyone can call Kansai's car not JDM looking, you know what I mean?

I know what you meant but I'm engineer you start throwing around percentages and my eyes light up.

On a serious note your car would be more JDM if it was faster.

I mentioned dan avon's car. which is just a completely stock sti (JDM GDB) with OEM accessories and wheels. It looks absolutely JDM to me.

I never theorized that you need crazy bodywork to look JDM, I think whiterabbit had the finest bugeye ever. So much I pretty much copied his entire style.

a lot of stock and lowered sti with stock wheels on this site looks JDM to me

I really don't know why yours doesn't I said it boggles my mind... because the HKS kansai one looks JDM to me, that probably makes my comment even more annoying.

lol I don't know.

I got it now, you hate the white on white thing. But white on white is straight up JDM though. I can't figure out your mind

Again, HKS Kansai's STi is exactly the same as mine, just different color.......

I don't hate white on white either, one of my favorite car memories was reading one of the older option magazines maybe in 96' and they had a picture of a zenki S14 with white volks. That picture changed my life!

Argh I don't know I'll go to a subaru meet next time and look at it in person. Just don't bash my girly car into bits okay? lol.

edit: don't take my comments on that takata CE28 too seriously. I said something about getting yellow to look like the dome takata nsx or something right? a majority of that is to poke fun at subaruist who had those things before. Hoping he'd read my comment
