Default Help. Car will not return to idle...

I just installed smc's alcohol injection kit and when i was going through the test in the directions I ran into a problem. I was running it at 3000 rpms and I hit the test button. There was a slight stumble as there should be. I released the test button and let off the throttle but it would not return to idle. I tapped the throttle and the rpms went higher but again it didn't come down. I checked the throttle cable at the throttle body and nothing appears to be hung.

Is it possible that the IAC got screwed up by the water?

i had a similar symtoms when i pulled my bov off for cleaning and redoing my recirc hose..not sure if it could relate to your problem, but it appeared my throttle position sensor was reading wrong. Reseating the sensor plug and undoing my neg battery cable for a few min sorted it out. My throttle and idle went back to perfect.

fastnyopi,

I cleaned the IAC , reseated the tps plug and reset the ecu by unhooking the neg cable and pressing the brakes. When I first restarted the car it went right to 3000 rpms and threw a cel (p1507). While I was checking under the hood the idle settled back down to 750. I reset the ecu one more time to clear the code and everything appears to be fine now.

thanks
Mike K

.....get some LPS2 from ACE hardware and take the IAC valve back off and spray the inside of the valve with it....it will lube it and help prevent it sticking.
Mine was REAL sticky and I did the above and it is all good since.
