The 07 DRL setup is not the same as previous years. I don't have links handy but the procedure for disabling them has been posted, here and at Scoobymods.

Alright for the 2007 WRX Owners this will only work for you. The 2007 STI is located in a Different place due to the HIDs I take it.

The Module for the 2007 WRX DRL is right next to the DP. Or Firewall on the Passenger Side. Pictures should clearly tell you what to do. I took these to help confused folks.

Here is the DRL Module for 07 WRX Owners

Here is what you need to do. Unplug and thats it. Your good to go. No more DRL.

Wow, removing some of the electical annoyances in the Subarus is as easy as unpluging it. I am impressed!

Yes I know that, but unplugging the harness doesn't reset like the seatbelt trick when you unplug the battery

The photos and description in WhiTe_07_WRx's post about disconnecting the module under the hood is NOT THE BEST WAY! There is an appropriate wire behind the glovebox for '06/'07s, and a good thread with pictures. It is simply the process of disconnecting a different plug and removing one single pin from it. Here we go:

Quote from Mulder: "Note that, as with the earlier years with DRLs, the "module" in the engine bay is NOT the actual DRL control unit. It is merely the dropping resistor that provides the ground connection when the DRLs are active. Disconnecting it will keep the DRLs off as long as you have the stock headlights, however the DRL system remains electrically active and there will be voltage at the headlights and on that connector. In the event you install HIDs later or otherwise modify your lights so there is an alternate ground path, the DRL function will return. To completely disable the DRLs with no chance of having them return, the main module must be disconnected as described in the links above."

THIS IS THE LINK!!! POST #49!!!

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...1119031&page=2

I did this on my '07 2.5i, which has the same, non-HID headlights as many WRXs and WRX TRs.

Just used this method for my 04 wrx and it worked like a charm... I took off the glove box just to make sure I was unplugging the right wire... Thanks a lot! Now I just gotta figure out how to run with only my fog lights.... Im sure I've seen that around here somewhere.

easy enough.. used the glovebox method on my 06, maybe 8 screws and a clip. 5 minutes w/ piss break

i suggest doing it this way to avoid exposed wires under the hood

Just FYI, its not by the firewall, its aft a little hidden by the glovebox if you don't remove it. I initially took the green one out by mistake.

Put a switch in line with the resistor in the engine bay (or the module behind the GB if I knew which wire is which) so I can choose when to have DRL's on. Sometimes it useful at night to be able to kill the lights completely without pulling up on the e-brake a notch.

I agree that DRL's are a good safety measure, but really I would just prefer to have a switch for everything my car does...
I like the sound of this, how would I acutally wire something like this up? thanks.

DRLs are actually a dubious safety feature, and if you like to upgrade your bulbs or convert to xenon HIDs for truly safer night driving, the DRL function either interferes with correct function or burns out your pricey 65watt bulbs...so away with DRLs.

Ever better method that doesnt require unplugging anything...
Sit in driver seat
Put key in on position
In 20-30 sec click and unclick the seat belt 30 times
Works until you reset the ecu
