Question MY00 RS-T AVO kit - how and where to mount WBO2 and EGT probe?

Yes I believe there are probably many threads out there with regards to WBO2 and EGT installation. However, I'm looking for specifics and I believe this is probably the best place to ask - WRX and STi have a different exhaust manifold and apparently the driver side manifold can be easily taken out. Looking under the car, there isn't much room left to properly install a WBO2 on the downpipe (has to be vertical between 10 to 2 o'clock). I'm having my friend's shop (he is the owner) do this but I don't believe they had experience in this area (since they're mostly maintenance but I did had my turbo installed there) so it's my best interest to give them as much detail as I could instead of just telling them to install it and let them figure out where.

For WBO2, I would imagine that the least you can do is to take out the downpipe entirely, letting the turbo and all the associated piping sit on the uppipe to minimize the work. The stock WBO2 is at 0 degrees looking from the back of the car, located about an inch or so just after the bend before the cat, and the stock NBO2 is at 180 degrees after the cat. Can the aftermarket WBO2 sensor be at between 75 - 105 degrees right after the bend and still have room for the wiring and be replaced without removing the downpipe? Can't remember if the downpipe is stainless or not though...

For the EGT probe, I don't know which side is easier - driver side or passenger side, and there is a heat shield that is spot welded. Common knowledge states that I would have the bung tapped and maybe welded. I think I would be concerned about the routing of the wires instead of accessibility seeing that a properly installed EGT probe can last a long and shouldn't need servicing.

Just trying to gather some of your experiences with RS-T and probe installation (both EGT and WBO2), I appreciate all the help I can gather - smog check is coming up before end of month and I hope to get this done quickly to verify how badly out of tune I'm

Thanks

I mounted my EGT probe in the exhaust manifold about 4" away from the #3 port.

As far as my wide band. I just put it several inches down stream of the factory WBO2. In fact when I was just tuning I removed the facory one and just put mine there.

Tats.
(LM-1 WBO2 BTW)

Interesting that there is still room further down stream of the stock WBO2 - if I saw it right, it was at a 9 o'clock position looking from the back of the car and that the high flow cat come pretty soon after that. I got the Zeitronix and in there is says the WBO2 needs to be mounted between 10 to 2 o'clock, and judging by how close the downpipe was against the firewall and the underbody, I can't really find a spot. Thanks for sharing though - I think my WBO2 setup is pretty permanent so I definitely need to weld another bung.

One more thing: is your EGT mounted on the outside of the manifold? #3 is on the passenger side and that would mean it sticks out towards the passenger side... hopefully that didn't sound dumb

Yes...sticks out towards the side of the car. I cut a small square out of the heat shield then drilled and tapped.
