Default How can I make my grille look like this??

I want to do something different with my grille. I know this topic has been beaten to death but this is what I want it to look like. Any ideas?

Oh ya, I suck at chopping pics

Yea, it's left over mesh from a friend's body kit, I suppose use the metal mesh from home depot and paint it black
here's a close up:

I used a piece of 3/4 " pvc and siliconed to the bottom of the grille and screwed in the mesh to the grille.

the zerosports emblem was bought on ebay.

you can also buy a grill from an 03-04 legacy...they look very similar to that except there is a (ugh) chrome ring around the entire thing. 135 bucks, but a lot easier than choppin up your grill.

after following suit with everyone doing clear-corners, I think the grille is the next thing to attack. keep us (well, me) posted on what you do.

i absolutely HATED the outback grille and was gonna do the dremel, bondo, paint thing. I was gonna either leave just the center emblem and put mesh behind or completely remove everything in the middle and put mesh behind.

Luckily, just before I was ready to do it, I saw the 35th anniv. legacy grille and fell in love. it was just a few screws and it looked great...

Maybe not radical enough for your taste, but it was an easier route to go and it looks very sporty... Let me find my photo online and I'll put a link...

well, I found the photo, but can't figure out how to directly link it to this thread. anyone know a goood way to do it? here is the link, it's the very first post with the link in it:

That grill is nice -- will that fit a 97 Legacy Wagon?

me too! $135 and a handful of bolts > hours and hours of bondo, dremel, and cutting.

Anyone recommend a place to find grills that would work with a 97 Legacy?

I bought a b4 grill off ebay. It looks pretty sweet. All fiberglass no center just mesh. I think it was like $50. I'll get some pics up after it's painted.
