Default lotusdrift detailed my car, before and after pictures

Bob detailed my car last weekend. I didn't have a chance to get 'after' pictures until yesterday, which was a week of driving later, so it did collect some dirt/bugs.

BEFORE

AFTER

Not the best pictures as it was starting to get dark and being a week after the detail, but you get the point

So LotusDrift, how much you charge and what products do you use? I'll supply beer and half the labor.

Yeah I wonder what the detailing would do to the 11 year old paint on my car. Hmmmm very curious. Very very curious..

I used Meg's #83 (dacp) and menzerna intensive polish on a CMA yellow pad for the swirl removal/reducer step. Followed that with meg's #80 speed glaze with a CMA orange pad, and used meg's NXT wax for the last step w/finishing pad. All application and pads used on a Porter Cable dual action polisher.

These are the three steps I am going to stick with on black cars now, although I'm going to change up my heavy cut polish soon (#83 can be a pain to work with).

Klasse AIO was used on the exterior windows, 303 on interior/vinyl, stoners on interior glass.

No tire dressing per Jason's request.

dave, forum rules prohibit discussing any cost/etc, but we can talk about it at subaru challenge if you want.

It is too hard for me to organize a trip to nova to do this. I would love to come up and hook everyone up, especially now that the weather has chilled some (makes detailing a 100 times more pleasant). But its just not an easy thing to plan or do.

if you ever feel like a trip to hampton roads, let me know and we can plan something.

I can probably do 1 person in nova on sunday afternoon actually. I will have to work out the details completely to verify, but since I will be up there for subi challenge anyways it is good timing. If anyone is interested just PM me.

hm, i guess going all the way there for detailing may defeat the purpose as the bugs on the way back would make things really messy again...i didnt realize you were so far south

There are people on here that can recommend a place for you to go closer to where you live.

Lots of good and bad detailing shops, probably much like anything else. I have seen some photos of nasty hologramming (buffer swirls) coming out of 'pro' shops. Really sad. If you go to a recommended place, or check out their work first, you should be fine though. Expect to pay at least 150 for the above work from a shop, from the prices I have seen. I have seen it for over 300.

Actually, a great way to find a detailer that cares is go onto autopia.org and make a post asking for service from a pro in your area, and describe what exact service you want. This is how I would do it.

Another way might be to stop in a higher end body shops. They will often have fliers up from pro detailers that they use. Regular body shops and delaerships often use towel boys, hence the swirls you see on brand new finishes

Just noticed my PM box was filled, so I cleaned it out.

I can do 2 in a day, assuming they are full details.
