Default inquiry on supercharge

Fellas,

Read an article on a Subaru ST-X (Japanese Performance mag)
Subaru of America has designed a truck with the 2.5 "boxer" engine (same as the 2.5 RS) with a supercharger kit from Eaton..That installation will boost 230 hp at 5600 rpm, a 40% increase + 210 lb ft of torque ..25% more ...
Anyone suby owners heard of it yet? Or know anything about the supercharger kit from Eaton ? Need input please..

Peace out,
Mykael

It was a custom 1-of a kind setup. I doubt SOA will release the car with the 2.5 supercharged motor. Chances are it will be the 6 cyl 3.0L motor in it.

IIRC, I read somewhere saying that the STX will come with a EJ25 for the base model and the H6 for the top of the line.

I highly doubt they'd implement the Eaton on the EJ25 since it can out perform the H6... they'd essentially be making competition between the two different lines.

I think the answer is no. Eaton custom made it I beleive. I even heard something along the lines that it was based off a Rimmer SC kit. Who knows.

I doubt it will ever benefit us however....

IIRC, the ST-X concept vehicle had a top mount Eaton SC. This won't fit under the hood of the RS or the GT. You'll have one of the ugly "bubbles" in the front of the hood to be able to clear the shaft's pulley.

However, the top mount S/C will fit the Forrester and possibly the new Impreza ('02-up). But I'm highly doubtful it will.

My personal preference wouldn't be for a S/C period, you increase parasitic losses and thermal inefficiency. If I were to choose and S/C it would be the Lysholm or the Centrifugal type.

Gentlemen,

Chris is correct. I would like one in my car if they do make them. As per Tulit , we would be same as the WRX...hehehe. Watchout freeman!!... I do believe someone in Montreal has a rimmer on their 2.5. wonder if he is still on the i-Club.
On the pic of the ST-X, it does not have a bubble on the hood of the car. The front is of the new legacy with the scoop.
I went on rimmer site last nite, nothing for the our legendary car.
Let me know if anyone got any info on the supercharge. Chris, r u interested too? May be if it does exist, we could do a group buy.. just wishing..

Later,
Mykael

Thank you. That is sweet until the failure & Cobb was willing to figure it out & fixed it ... Now my car is 00 wonder what type of issue that could happen. Hey after all , I am going Rimmer all the way but have Trey@Cobb installed it properly. Chris , r u interested? Group buy anyone?
I will not be driving my car this Winter since next month ,wifey car will be ready for pick up 2 week in Sept. She is going Lexus IS300 not WRX
I will be repainting my hood same color & get rid of all chips & changing my bumper.
Mostlikely driving my car to Cobb to have the Rimmer installed.I have been patient enough listening & understanding for a Turbo for our 00rs. Quite a few failure when it does not come factory...
I know someone from Calgary was going to get mods done with Cobbs . Can't remember who but when r u planning for the drive? May be drive down together? Chris u are welcome too?
Stay at my sister & bro in law

Peace out,
Mykael
