Default WRX Sighting - Black - WOW!

Coming out of the parking lot at the Toys R us over by Park meadows Mall at lunchtime I spotted a Black WRX with Anthracite rims and dark tinted glass! WOW! Nice stealth package, wish I knew who you were...

Cant miss me - Im the slammed silver car with the Morette headlights.

Default It was me

You were turning at the light onto County Line, right? I just put these new Speedline GT-1s on - glad others think they look good as well. Your car looks great - are you running coil-overs or lowering springs?

Also, that wouldn't happen to be the TurboXS Stage 1 muffler on your car, would it? I'm in line for that upgrade and have been wondering what the exahust looks/sounds like....

Default Custom

I am on Speedline GT1 rims as well, 18 inch in silver - they sure do look different in anthracite. Very nice on the black car. I also noticed fog light covers? Which ones are those?

I have a custom stainless 2.5 inch turbo back exhaust with a single cat, but not the turboxs system. I have his chip though. I would guess his exhaust is going to sound a lot like this one based on some of the other folks I have spoken to who already have it.

I am on H&R lowering springs, since I have not really seen a set of coilovers which had a decent price. I thought about the Leda units from Scoobysport but they are $1900 and really meant for rallying. I am after the touring car look/ride, not rally.

Default Question

With the H&R springs - are you using the stock shocks? Also, the fog covers are a set of STI replicas that I bought here on the board from Revolutions Motorsports.

I'm looking forward to my TurboXS setup...

Default Called H&R

Yes, they are used with the stock dampers. Before I bought them I called my old contact at H&R and talked to her a little bit about the design of these springs. She told me they were actually designed to go with our dampers so there should be no problems with blowing shocks.

I can confirm this as I have put this suspension through he!! and no blown anything yet. I am really wondering whether I want to spend any more money on coilovers or not - seems like they may not give me much more performance for the buck.

Thumbs up

That's great to hear JaMa. I have a set of H&Rs coming soon too, and I will be going with the stock struts too. Sounds like we need to have another meet soon at SubySports to check out how different our cars are now.

Thumbs up

I think it would be great if we had a meet sometime. I just moved back to Colorado from the Pacific Northwest and I would love to meet some Subie enthusiast's around here. The Subie crowd in Washington is great, hopefully the crew down here is cool as well.

Wow its Nick. Glad to see you made it to your homeland OK. Good to see that you are trying to get involved with the local sube enthusiasts as well. I hope they are as much fun as the group up here is. Just last wed. it was only Dave and I at wingdome (only 2 people) I think that we are at the beginning of its demise.

Maybe now you can find out what happened to your parts at JCS?

Good to hear that you are doing ok.

Hey Erik, what's going on?? Good to hear from you as well. Only 2 people at the Dome!! I was hoping that a WingDome type thing happened here, but I don't think it does. I called JC Sports and it turns out they finally shipped my stuff to Washington the day before I left So now it's going there, then back here, the wait continues.
