Lightbulb Cobb Stage 1, Wastegate & DBC

I have an '02 wrx with stage 1 access ecu with hks grounding kit. I am looking for ways to tweak my car using the stock components. I've been told that the boost decreases after 5k rpm. So i've been a few things, adjust my stock wastegate so it holds boost longer. Buy an AVO wastegate which is designed for the wrx to hold boost upto 15psi longer. Buy a TurboXS Dual Boost Controller instead of the wastegate, price is about the same, the DBC has more adjustment/flexiblity then the aftermarket wastegate.

Now. I know the accessecu will allow for an uppipe, pulley and clutch. Will the AECU allow for a wastegate adjustment, wastegate or DBC without having known problems occur? if any?

Why not just go to AECU stage 2? Of course you need the downpipe in order to go stg 2, but you should hit over 15psi peak and taper down to ~12. Probably a lot safer too.

well I can put in an up-pipe, pulley and clutch. That would bring me around 285-290 without going to stage 2(285) and spend less money. Would like to get the most out of my stage 1 as I can. This way I can learn more about my car and how things work.

How would an UP-200, Pulley-150, and Clutch-500+ be less than buying a 300 dollar or less downpipe to go directly to stage 2? Also "Ive been told boost decreases after 5k rpm", do you have a boost guage? On the stock turbo, an external wastegate wont do much for the price and an electronic boost guage is in about the same category. Use the money that you would spend on either(I think around 300 bucks) and get a downpipe and go stage 2.
