Default Hotel for SEMA ??

Has anybody found good prices on Vegas hotels for that weekend yet? I looked a little, but didn't find any really good prices, and besides that I am tired of being the one that sets up hotel reservations for our road trips. It is someone else's turn. I am busy planning my other fun trip that is next month.

I havent gotten that far yet. I am hoping Simon will say something about discounted rates or something. I did our reservations last year, and I think I'll be doing it this year as well. I think most of the people are finding their own hotel (excluding us UT guys thus far) arrangements this year as I know one group staying in the Stratosphere, I think one group in NY NY, and atleast one person (hi Chad) staying in Paris.

The idea was thrown around for staying at the motel 6 right by MGM Grand, but I haven't taken the initiative to call them and find rates.

I don't remember where I found this, but here is a link to help find hotels: http://www.vegas.com/resorts/?f=m1hp&t=mhotelst . Don't enter in 4 people, or the rates might go up _just_ a little. :P I will probably start looking around in the next week or so and I'll keep you posted on what I find. FWIW, Boulder Station (where we had the breakfast buffet at for initial meet) is $150 for two nights though I remember it being a ways from the strip. Stratosphere is $146. It looks like the majority of the places are charging around $200 for 2 adults and 2 beds. I dunno how many people we would want to stuff in a room though.

Do we know how many of us are going out this year? I plan on driving out, and I will have atleast two friends coming with. Spazz41 may be going out in his Impreza too, so that would make 2 cars, 4-6 of us total from American Fork.

Me, Scoobyslack1 is flying in from Florida, Turbo in the wagon, at least one of Turbo's friends, and still trying to find out who else.

BTW, I know people that have gotten cars stolen from that Motel 6. The hotels on the strip have much better security, so **** doesn't get stolen. The Motel 6 is close to the strip, but not close enough for security.

Theft would not be a good thing. I would probably go crazy if my car was stolen. Perhaps the motel 6 is out of the question then.
