Unhappy I hear clicking when i drive in my impreza

hey guys i need your help. i have a 97 impreza L and when i drive i hear a clicking sound. When I start off in first and let off the gas pedel to press my clutch in and shift it makes a click. my friend was driving my car and he noticed it made the same click when he would let off the gas. i think its coming fromt he rear diff. but im not sure. any of you guys have this problem? is it fixable? any help is appreciated.

I have the same problem. I think it's the brake pads tho. At least I'm pretty sure. Your brake clips are probably not seating correctly. I dunno try that at least. Cheaper than a new diff.

I have the same noise problem 'clickity clack'.

When I'm coasting/in gear, it clicks over bumps on the road.

To make sure it's the brakes, try applying the brakes while coasting/shifting.

It turns it, it was my rear brakes anti rattle clips that I couldn't fit over my aftermarket pads.

Never installed them back on, so I'm still getting the clicks.

its not the brakes. it makes a click sound when i let off the gas. i guess this is not common huh.....
