I managed a best of 51.008, I think. Seemed alright with my minimal mods and riding on Falken 512s.

I had a great time, Becky and I enjoyed meeting the usual suspects, and a few new faces. No sunburn and no rain made for an excellent event. I raise a pint for those organising and officiating.

We've got a ton of pictures to sort through, becky filled up at least two memory cards and roughly 500 images or so.

Here are a few pics from the second heat, for some reason my camera would only take pics of Real Subarus... I mean GC8s.

Oh, and my results: 1st place in the S-T-F-U class! Actually, I placed 15 of 19 in STU, with a best of 49.656.

I haven't autocrossed in probably ten years, and this was the Legacy's debut as well, so I wasn't unhappy with the results. I was a mess on the course, I must say, driving too fast into just about every corner and just punishing all four tires constantly. I'm would hope with some practice I could do a little better. The car seemed to work pretty well. For a family hauler, it gets out of its own way.

I have a bunch more pics, but it'll take a few days to get 'em up. Stay tuned.

I had a great time today at the challenge. Didn't do quite as well as I would have liked, and AJ and I didn't pull off our predictions of a 1,2 finish with the STS automatics. We were close to pulling it off, but some jack@ss showed up with a white 2.5RS, and he talked some other @sshat into codriving it with him. I am pretty sure they were cheating, and they took first and second places. jk great driving Tim and Keefe. AJ and I did manage to pull third and fourth ( I got fourth ), for the final 2 trophy spots in STS. So at least the automatics represented. My best was a 47.4. All in all a great day, thanks to Subaru for putting it on.

I have not seen that many SVX's in one spot in a long time. Definitely sweet to see them out and racing. And they were putting down great times for automatics and heavy cars.

I'm tired, slightly sunburned (thank you clouds for providing relief) and very pleased with my runs. The first definitely shook some cobwebs out and provided a much needed refresher. I should have aimed to hit a WDCR event a month earlier to get my auto-x feet back underneath me. Either way, pulling a 46.8 out on the last run (to take third, sorry Chris ) was a great cap to a great day.

Seeing the 06's out as well was cool, and there were some VERY impressive cars/drivers out there. Hearing consisten 41's, 42's and 43's just had me in awe. And seeing Jake and Mike pulling down excellent times with their fastest NA car out there renewed my desire to swap on some better heads/cams and see what happens.

Great day. Great people. Definitely well run and an overall excellent event. SOA gets 5 bananas.

AJ

PS: And if you didn't stay to watch the 32 Challenge Competitors run, you missed out on some SERIOUS driving. Some freakin' fast machines and well tuned nuts behind the wheels out there showing how it is done.

I had a blast! It was a great saturday; great weather, great event, and most importantly, a lot of very nice fellow Subaru drivers...

WDCR SCCA people did a superb job (as always) running the event; everything on schedule, no hick-ups...

My special thanks to RRSER (Randy) for his vision -and making it happen- only so that we can have lots of, lots of fun.

I placed 2nd in ESP(1st place fellow did a wonderful job.); managed to qualify for the challenge and nailed the 'Challenge' win

Brian and Craig Garfield's school definitely helped a lot with the way I saw the course and how I drove. I'm happy with my result considering that I Auto-X about twice a year and how my car is setup.

The fact that Gary can run a 44.253 with the exact same setup proves that I need a lot more seat time.

Thanks to:
WDCR for hosting
The Garfields for including a little part of the figure 8 drill and for teaching me to throttle steer
SOA for doing this
SOA, Racecomp, Wilkins and Mach V for sponsoring Patapsco, which led to water, which led to leftover water, which led to the water I cooled my tires off with

Best regular event time was 44.7, good for 3rd in STX. STX was super-close, top 4 competitors were seperated by like .3. My challenge times were 44.8 (woot) and 45.5 (bah). I still have no idea how Brandon beat me with a 44.8+1 and a 44.4 [damn j00!]

The event was a blast... pretty happy about the results. Shouldn't have punked out on my 2nd challenge run though!

Jard, just remember, "I'm building a street car"

Congrats to Burak for taking home the big trophy...

edit: I will be posting vids of my best run and Chris's best run... where can I host the videos? I don't wanna put em on my personal website...

it was a great event. the subie tuning t shirt came in nice and handy for taming the suns heat. i dont know how the hell jared could wear a black spb shirt in that heat.

sammi placed 5th under Shannon's #4 position. i'm pretty proud of her as this was her first *official* autocross. however i was dissapointed a bit cause she didnt push the car

The first run (the one where I got red flagged) I had the shocks at 10/16 f, 12/16 r, car was loose as all hell. After that I backed to 8f 6r and it was just the right amount of supadrifto! Shifting to 2nd after the first slalom, before the sweeper, was enough weight transfer to get the car to rotate nicely...

yea i was working at the first sweeper:

you had some good rotation but it seemed your front tires were falling out of grip/slowing you down. but overall very smooth driving (after the first lap i mean )

good jorb
