after installing a turbo back, what timeframe have people seen before their car starts throwing a check engine light, if it does at all ?

The ECU does its catalyst efficiency checks during highway type driving (steady throttle for several minutes at operating temperature), so that is when the P0420 CEL will come up. Depending on what kind of driving you do, you may see the CEL right away or it may take a while.

I finally got a CEL light, so on my way home lastnight, I stopped by autozone with a few min. to spare. I ended up picking up a pocket scan tool to read and erase codes, so cool to keep in the car, its very small and compact and it fits under my cargo area under the floor of the trunk perfectly
Lets hope it keeps the CEL off for a while. |
