Default when did obd2 come out? and other misc q's

when did it? ive heard it was 96 but i want to be sure.

also what motor came in a 95L with awd and the side feed injectors soch heads that look strangely similar to the legacy turbo heads. was it 1.8 or 2.2

on a cable clutch is it east to adjust the tension on the cable (shot in the dark here) the clutch is a little late on ingauging. doesnt slip just need to let the clutch out alot before it connects.

OBD 2 came out in 95/96, some cars have bits from obd1 and bits from obd2 from those years so that kind of sucks.

Look for the 16-pin OBD-II diagnostic connector. OBD-I Subarus don't have 'em.

I believe that OBD-II compatibility was required for all '96 models and afterwards. So, could have come out in '95.

According to this page:

http://www.cars101.com/impreza_archive93_96.html

All stickshift 95 Impreza Ls had the EJ18. It has side-feed injectors (I think they're the same form factor as 92-94 NA Legacy injectors) and the heads should have a construction similar to that of EJ22T heads.
