Too loud - don't even consider it unless it's a race car and even then you wouldn't pass the dB requirements at most tracks.

There are soundclips in the forum. Just searcha bit and you'll find it. I believe SubaruMan had a clip. See if I can dig that up.

I found a video clip from a member that I tried hosting once. I can email it to someone if they want to check it out. Send me a pm.

I ran borla headers, racepipe (catless) and 2.5inch "catback" with one smallish resonator and a straight through muffler with a pretty small body. This setup was LOUD! But it sounded awesome. It literally sounded like a modded small block camaro and occasionally shot fire... Run with a borla header and either a high flow cat or straight pipe where the cats were and then have a muffler shop make you a catback with a performance muffler and either no resonator or one smallish one... Straight pipe on an RS will be extremely loud... I'm not saying you won't like it, because it does sound mean as hell, but be prepared for what you are getting yourself into... for some reason subarus are MUCH louder than most other 4cylinders.... and most cars in general...

and just for perspective all of my friends are pretty active in motorsports... we campaign a rally car in the rally america series, organize and race in the local SCCA rallyX and autoX events etc. in other words, they're not just a mindless herd of ricers The car with the setup I described was rolled by a friend under some very fantastic circumstances and so I no longer have it... However, everyone still talks about how awesome it sounded... I'm currently making a straight pipe setup for my WRX for ice racing... (catless 3inch DP, and straight 3inch pipe out the side...)
