Default FS: JDM STi Titanium front strut bars and Kakumei Roof diffuser.

Greetings from Manchester! I'm posting this up for a friend who has a couple auctions going up on ebay. I'd rather see these pieces go to locals, so I'm only posting here.

This auction is for the strut bars:
auction ended

This one is for the diffusers:
auction ended

This is the same guy that gets me JDM parts when local sources can't locate them. I've had him track down wheels/tires, intercoolers, front lip spoilers etc. See my web page for examples of things he has supplied for my WRX. Please direct questions to him as I don't actually have the pieces in hand or if you want I can show you the strut tower bar when I get back to the states.

Edit:
I've got a couple more pics to post up and a new strut bar to offer, these are all for sale. PM me for details

Mark

What does the 'diffuser' actually do?

Answers.com says:
Quote:
dif·fus·er (dĭ-fyū'zər) pronunciation
n.

1. One that diffuses, as:
2. A light fixture, such as a frosted globe, that spreads light evenly.
3. A medium that scatters light, used in photography to soften shadows.
4. A device, such as a cone or baffle, placed in front of a loudspeaker diaphragm to diffuse the sound waves.
5. A flow passage in a wind tunnel that decelerates a stream of gas or liquid from a high to a low velocity.
So it doesn't appear to fit section 1-4, but according to section 5, it is a device that increases drag...

The fins don't appear to be tall enough to act as vertical stabilizers, so...

Am I overanalyzing a cool piece of kit that looks good but doesn't really do much? Don't get me wrong...I'm not of the mistaken belief that my CF front lip is keeping me on the ground at 65 or anything, but I don't get this...

Thanks,

P03w

the mitsubishi version of this is called a vortex generator, which without going in to complex aerodynamic stuff i dont know about is supposed to direct air toward the wing, thus making some downforce. Since this is the exact same thing, im guessing either calling it a diffuser is the wrong label or they mean the same thing, or nobody cares

I am picking up a front lip and sti titanium strut bar from this guy in a couple of days. I'll post an update when the stuff arrives. So far he has been great to deal with.

Oh, ask him about the brake ducts he has up for grabs, they are sexxyyyy. lol

CGM, I should have some examples of the brake ducts waiting for me when I get back. If Jeff sends me your parts, I can drive a bunch of stuff over to show you. I'm glad things are going well, it can be kinda tough getting ahold of him sometimes, but he really wants to help us out. Persistance usually pays off.

I still can't believe you would drive all the way here to deliver some parts.

I am sending him the money Sunday. He said he would just ship the strut bar to me but the lip would be coming your way once he gets a couple more orders.

I'll try and keep in touch with what I have coming.

In a way I wish you wouldn't have started this thread, I was trying to stop spendig so much money on my car. lol

Lets put it this way. I've had the car almost a year and i have just broken the 10K mile mark, I welcome the chance to drive it any chance I get. I'm finally just getting used to it. As for not spending any more money... aren't we all trying to stop?

If you're talking about the vortex generator/diffuser/whatever, it probably mounts with 3M double sided tape.

kinda pointless to have this one with the 06 sti because it pretty much already has one...kinda defeats the whole purpose

i would think about a diffuser if it was carbon fiber like the MR. but that would mean i would have to do the pre-spoiler in carbon fiber also....

hhmmm
