('93-'01) MSD ignition System

Two weeks ago i sended an email to the people from MSD asking about an ignition system upgrade for my car, and they answered me that they did not have anything for my car and that i could not add an aftermarket ignition system because of something i do not really remember right now.

I just want to know, do any of you have added an ignition system?

ah!!! and what other company bresides magnecor sells spark plug cables for our cars??

The ignition system is certainly not one of the things in our cars that needs improving. Your money would be better spent elsewhere, IMHO.

I have Magnecor's 8.5mm spark plug wires and NGK spark plugs

There is also Nology & Direct Hits available!

I will be switching to the Denso Iridium in the future!

Will it work my a 2.5 RS my 2000?
since i see you have it on a Legacy

What gains did you get whren you added it? is it really worth the money??

Can our cars hold another coil? i mean adding a coil to the ignition

I thought our Suby's were distributorless!
The DIS-2 is just one piece that hooks up to the ECU...or at least thats what I thought!

Better throttle response, acceleration and gives you a rev boost - somewhat like vtec @ 5500 rpm to 6300rpm!!! Scary!!!

I tought or engines use the DIS-6 plus, or at least thats what they told me at th racing shop i go to, the guy told me that the DIS-2 is for ignitios with two coils, and since i have a distributorless ignition i shoul use the DIS-6.

I had never heard about this ignition, any of you has it??
what do you guys think??

I thought the guy running the 10 sec subie was using an MSD component of some sort. I think it was a 6AL. I need to find his site but I can't remember his name.

Yep, the Rigoli white WRX is using the MSD ignition. Doesn't say what component it is.

I wouldn't switch to MSD until you have atleast 400hp.

Their other WRX is using an MSD DIS-2.

What Ive heard is that the stock Subaru ignition system really is rather good for a stock system. IMHO a MSD is probably not worth the money. (Why not buy Shiv's Tec-II with new coils?)
