Default Cam position sensor

For the life of me I can't figure out how to put that thing back on there. I have the sensor, I have the bolt, I know which hole, but it just doesn't make sense no matter which way I turn it.

Anyone describe how it sits on there for me? Or a picture would be awesome if anyone could procure one.

Does it bolt directly to the head or is there a bracket in between somewhere that I've lost?
