Question Rally schools/coaching in the NW?

I know there are schools in NH (Team O'Neil) and FL but I'm looking for something closer to home. I know the autocross folks run schools every year in major cities, is there anything similar for the RallyX folks? Anyone heard of anything in BC or Alberta?

I'm trying to see about this too. I'm going to try and see if we can get some local help to get this in motion... I'll try and keep everyone updated. It's not easy though.

no Rally schools here...

a rally school (outright rally) would cost big, big bucks - insurance, liabilities, grounds to host it on... etc...

but to have and host a rallycross school... not a bad idea....

i'll see what i can do if there is any interest...

is there interest???

the autox school i attended i expected to be a 'joke' but it actually ended up being informative on driving and car control... maybe we could do something similar for rallycross...

if there's interest...

we could get some club/pro drivers out there to instruct, ride along, assist...

if there's interest...

hey... ya know.. not a bad idea...

If we can't get something to fly in the NW, F1 fans (as I am) might be interested in combining the June Montreal F1 race with attending a Team O'Neil 2 or 3 day rally school. According to mapquest it's a 3 1/2 hour drive from Montreal to the Team O'Neil NH location (possibly quicker with the right co-driver)

Default BC?

What about the RallyBC people? They seem to put on a rally school, and people here have certainly taken it. Do they cover everything-but-driving?

I'm very interested in being involved!

With a careful planning and promotion this would GO OFF!!

The initial driving could be more Rally Cross, in open areas and cater to less than rally prepared cars.

For the advanced days we need 6 to 8 cars with rally cage , harnesses, shocks, ect. Dave Clark, He's the MAN.

I have a feeling Subaru, Mitsubishi, Ford or Mazda would be interested in helping.

The land permit shouldn't be out of the question, when we show insurance coverage.

I believe the SCCA will provide insurance ( begginers are covered at a rally ) though all the entrants would need to join SCCA and the school pays the SCCA for the coverage.

In other words - structure the school in a reasonably safe selection of roads ( small green trees, wide and level with the initial driving in big open areas).

Or just get everyone a rental car with full coverage!!
AVIS Rally School!!
Oh ... just kidding : )

Rallycross/Rally school would be cool! I'm definately in.

I'd love to get an expert opinion in my car when I'm rallycrossing to see where I can make improvements. I always have fun at Rallycrosses, but placing higher would be cool.

Talking Count me in!

Eric, Jamie, et.al.

I'd love to participate ... and will have some time to help with logistics, phone calls ... whatever ... to help make this happen once both kids are back in college in September ...

I got a lot out of the evolution phase I autocross school here in Bremerton this summer ... and if I could continue learning at a rally-x course ... hee, hee ... maybe I'll get the winner's hug from Jamie next year ..

pm or email me if I can help ... and I'll get back to you !

I think I should take it to make my paved to dirt surface abilities a little further.
