Default FS: 'On dash' gear shift indicator display w/shift light

I've got some of these from Europe for my cars, successfully installed in all but one. Have some left over units.

I'm calling it GG; it is a 'gauge' size digital display that shows you which gear you are in, and comes with a small built-in shift light. It is designed for rally cars in mind (especially sequential shifters) but becoming popular in road racing as well (I installed in 2 Grand Am Cup cars). Great for everyday driving, too...I even put one on my motorcycle!

Very easy to install since it taps into your speed sendor and rpm signal ECU wires and a constant power source; then you double-sided tape it on your dash. Plain and simple. It programs itself, but you can still change display color, brightness, etc. with a very funny method since it does not have any buttons Comes with instructions manual(I edited most of it for language).

One of the units on my STI...

see my web-site for the GG video at work...

I'm asking $155 firm.

^I would LOVE to have a track like that in NY somewhere that I can tear it up. The light looks great, and I wanted to know, is the shift light programable because either he lets her redline or it just comes on a few hundred rpms before he needs to shift.

I have one in my car (the car in the video). I did not have the shift light programed during that session. Actually it was set to come on quite low somewhere around 5k or so.

Also, the device allows you to change the display color. There are 3 choices: red, green and 'variable', which changes color based on engine rpms (starts green and changes to intense red as rpms climb up)

I like how you speed the video up. Your third lap was done in 1:12 and you spent some time behind the corvette.. Formula cars run 1:15-1:18's at summit with clear track. Not Evo's..

I dont want to get off topic here, but since you pointed it out. This is a problem I have with my camera. For some reason when I download the video to my PC and compress it, it 'speeds' up. I cannot figure out why. This car nor the driver clearly does not run 1:12s at SP.

The speed problem is probably mis-matched frame rates. Maybe you're recording at 24fps and then compress at 30fps. That would make 1.25 real seconds turn into 1 second after compression. So, 1:12 on your video would be 1:30, does that sound more like it?

those who are requesting pictures(installed) via PM can check Wojo's web-site http://www.tarmacspec.com/8400.html . He just uploaded a small video showing GG at work, as well as some pictures of the unit.

When you say "easy to install" just how easy is that? I'm not very good with wiring and whatnot, pretty much new to working on cars in general. Is this something I can do with an instruction manual, or I am going to end up taking this to a shop to get it installed?
