Question More questions for RS-T owners - how high would your EGT reading get?

Assuming your EGT probe is on the exhaust manifold (Cyl 3 or 4 a few inches off the exhaust port), how high is your EGT during
a) 3rd gear, 40mph cruise
b) 5th gear, 60-65mph cruise
c) full throttle, 4th gear
I assume 5th gear full throttle can only be seen on the track, but that reading is welcomed.

Just trying to get a baseline to compare myself to - WRX owners seem to be fine with 1400F highway cruising EGT, and I guess mine is low by that standard it's more like 1250-1320F, steadily climbing. Jumping the full throttle 4th, my EGT would climb past 1580F if I don't let off (ie, get 1580F before reaching red-line).

You should not see your EGT's run over 1600 at any costs. I suggest sticking to around 1550 for a minor safety factor.

Cruising EGT's should be pretty high (cool EGT's means there is unburnt fuel still). I suggest around 1400-1450, if you can get it steady, and so that it doesn't cause the WOT EGT's to rise above what it normally does (need to get some more fuel into it when transitioning).

Since I'm using a Link-1 with only 6 rows, I guess I should be able to lean out row 1 and 2 (that would cover up to at least 60KPa absolute if not 80KPa), use row 3 as a transition (richen quite a bit) and row 4 and 5 (I don't think I get up to row 5) still relatively rich? I will see how high I can get the EGT up to during cruising and still not have full load EGT tip over near top of 4th. I suppose I shouldn't need to grossly pull timing until I reach atomspheric (100KPa)?

I'm using an E-Manage/440cc/WRXfuelpump/StockEJ25:

Cold Idle: 600
Warm Idle: 800
Full throttle/4th/6000rpm:1430
Cruise 80mph: 1410
Full throttle/5th/5000rpm:1550

If I reset my ECU, I will top out 5th gear (138mph) and stay below 1500. Over time, the EGT's will creep up to 1600. You definitely want to stay out of that territory.

Just curious if a tune like this would never pass emissions due to rich AFR on cruising (to make a safe transition to boost)?
