Default e brake light woun't go off

My E Brake light in the speedo has come on recently even after I have completely release my e brake. The light would stay lit and goes off sometimes, the car drives completely like how it was but I don't know why it is lit when the ebrake has already been released. Can anyone shed some light to my question? Thanks.

Not an electrical problem, it's your brake fluid. The level is low probably because of worn brake pads.

....but that does not fix the pads being almost shot, nor does it make the fluid not run all over the place when ya change the pads, 'cuz the resivoir overflows.....now does it??

Check the brake pads. If there's some pad left, then add enough brake fluid to get to the "low" line. But don't overfill it.

If there's very little pad left, then change the pad and then fill the fluid to the "high" line.

thats true, but the fluid might be low, and the pads might still have some meat left. until he replaces the pads, he isnt going to just let the fluids be low....now will he??
