Well, I've been gone for about a week or so. I took a vacation to Japan. I was at one of the southern cities Kagoshima. I had a blast, and will most likely go back at some time to check out Tokyo. Flight was about 13 hrs out, and 12 hrs back.
They've got some interesting cars over there that you don't see here. There was one particular honda wagon that looked pretty sweet. Also, the Japanese LOVE body kits...they're on everything. Enjoy http://www.main.experiencetherave.co.../images/japan/

think about it... (prices are guestimates) Full body kit $5000 (bumper, grill, lip, fog covers, skirts, rear bumper, and badging) Wheels $1500 Turbo $300 (if you go with a VF39) Intercooler $200 (USDM STi) Suspension $750 Brakes $2000 Seats $1500 (if you can find them) Steering wheel $500 (ditto) Door Panels $300 6 Speed $5000 Axles $? DCCD components, controller, and sensors $? Various others $? (switches and other things I'm not thinking of) Gauges $1000 or so That's like $18 grand not including the axles, DCCD stuff, or various parts... then add shipping from japan!!! basically if I had the money to do all that, I might as well get a better car.... ![]() |

I live in Kurihama, Japan and was driving by a Mitsubishi dealership the other day and noticed that they are selling an evo station wagon now and of course it was white, just like every other car over here. Are they selling those back in the states now also? Looks kinda weird, I will post pics later once I get a chance.
Also, Tokyo Auto Salon will be at the makuhari messe in Yokohama. In January, here`s a link: http://www.e-autosalon.net/index.html If you got the money to fly over here, I recommend going to this thing at least once in your life. Its worth it. |

Probably the culture and the people. It's such a breath of fresh air to have people that are truly nice, courteous, and helpful. I'm not saying there aren't people like that here, but over there, pretty much everyone I interacted with was like that. Get this. I was in one of the department stores buying souvenirs. When I was ready with all my stuff, I looked for a cash register, the lady I asked, basically took all my stuff, I stayed there, she came back with a total, she also asked if they were presents, I paid her, and she came back with change and my stuff all wrapped up. Now how's that for service. Food was good. We had sushi, smashed rice balls, hamburger steak, and of course got to sample some shochu (somewhat like sake). I brought a bottle of that back with me. josh |
