Default Need to borrow/look at someones 4 or 5 point seat harness

Here's the deal, I need to look at and take some notes on someones 4 or 5 point seat harness for a future project of mine

I can get the 5 point camlock style buckle for the front attachment but it is the other attachment points that I need to see what other styles of buckle to order.

I plan on making a 3" 5-point seat harness for autocrossing and rallycrossing and maybe actually start selling the things too if it works out.

Oh yeah, don't think I'm some quack who wants to try to do this on a home sewing machine...I do this kind of thing for a living, industrial sewing machines, heavy duty thread, the whole works.

Just want to spread my horizons a little

The Tactical Tailor strikes again!!!! I would buy one.....you guys make great stuff. Can you make me one that unbuckles and straps onto my UZI as a sling???

"It's not only a racing harness it's an assault rifle sling as well"
....all for only 99.95!!!

.....I'd like to see it go head to head against Didi 7 or the juiceman on an infomercial...

Or it could double as a repeling harness/toe strap

I'd like a nice black one with the Tactical Tailor logo sewn on....Are you going to do the sewing or is someone at the shop?

hey ryan!
you can use mine as a sample. i have four point sabelts that have those traditional style seat belt clips. how long would you need them and when? also what color webbing can you make them out of? i have a friend in my squadron who's a parachute rigger and the only colors they have are olive drab and olive drab let me know what's up

I will be doing all the sewing since this would have nothing to do with the Tactical Tailor, it would be my own project but FYI nothing does not come out of our shop that I have not instructed someone on how it is made and I do the final checks on almost all the items we sell.

No OD, I will probably make the first one for myself out of blue webbing. But that might very considering price and availability of the items, all this will be coming out of my pocket so I cannot go too crazy with different colors.

If you can I will be at the shop today 8/25/01 from 11-4 and you can drop by and I can get some measurements and look closer at the harness. It will only take a few minutes, call me at
(253) 984-7854 and I will give you better directions.

I would still like to see an OMP, Sparco, Scroth, etc. just to compare notes.

The camlock I can get has a breaking strength of over 5000lbs and the webbing I plan to use has a breaking strength of 9000lbs so this will be one strong harness.

One final note, this will not be FIA approved or usable for Rally or road racing like at SIR......YET!!!

I am going to look into how I can get it approved so if anyone knows who I can call and contact or find some more info into this it will be GREATLY appreciated

If you want, you can take a look at my passenger side Schroth harness. Its not installed yet.

Could you do a custom harness for me? I have found that street harnesses don't work well with race seats. The shoulder belts are sewn to the lap belt and this makes adjustments funny. There is not enough length in the lap belt.

What I would like is a 4 point harness with separate lap and shoulder belts, that I could bolt in. Maybe have the shoulder belts come together into a Y and attach to the C-pillar at the belt opening.

So far the only camlock buckle I have been able to find would be a 5-point system.

A custom deal....well first I am going to have to get a good look at a race harness to figure a few things out, then we can start talking about customization.

I'll have OMP 6-points in my car at wild west. Come take a peek.

You'll also get to see the car before I *shudder* put it in the trees......

I thought you had a Williams harness in there???

The main question now is....Does the car sound fast now???

I'll look for you early Sat. before you guys head out to the start, hopefully I'll remember to bring a tape measurer.

Well... It does have some exhaust work done. I'm concentrating on learing the car before I do a whole lot of stuff on it. Still no BOV yet though. I just want the damn sound! Why is it not PGT legal?!

I will be up memorial day weekend, if that is any more convenient. And then again on thursday-saturday. You'll find me. If you want to hook up on the memorial day wkend, email me (mlepisto@atgi.net) and I'll give you my cell number.
