Default My Setup for Logging/Displaying EGT's with UTEC/Tuna

I have a Turboxs UTEC and Tuner Pro and I wanted to be able to both log my EGT's as well as see them on a gauge.

So, I bought the DTEC EGT probe that turboxs sells, did the usual drilling and tapping of the manifold to install the probe. I also bought one of the z-series autometer pyrometer gauges that runs off a straight k-type thermocouple signal, and tapped this into the probe wires BEFORE the turboxs signal conditioner (little grey box).

The setup has been working flawlessy and is relatively cost effective if you already have the tuner.

Just wanted to share that with the community to let everyone know it can be done and works well.

matt, what do you use to concatenate the tuner's output stream to the utecs?

Probably nothing. You can hook the UTEC to the TUNA and take the output of the TUNA into the laptop. The TUNA will put the WB data in the last column of log1 of the UTEC.

ride5000,
Oops my bad, I understand what you're talking about now.

Matt, how do you get the EGT data in with log 1 info?

maybe i should have been more clear...

i HAVE a utec, and a tuner pro, and have been using them both together for the past year and half.

i was wondering if he had been successful with using a product like jmussetter's mps logmapper.. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=781783 that can take two data streams from two com ports and merge them together. this would allow logging of ALL of the utec and tuner pro data.

It would be better if TurboXS would just provide some more firmware upgrade to allow the TUNA to merge the WB data and one of the spare inputs on the PRO to the log1. I would gladly pay them for the firmware upgrade + EGT probe.

i absolutely agree that some flexibility in the logger options would be a very nice option!

the trick is getting txs to do it..

The most recent firmware for the sti (1.1c I think) has allows you to log the Tuner's analog inputs, I believe it is logger number 6.

Hopefully they will integrate the analog inputs (at least one) into logger 1.

I have tried using the MPS Logmapper but since I only have one serial input I'm not sure how I would use it.

Since the MPS logmapper is made for integrating other WB's with utec, it has no provision for merging the data from the daisy-chained utec and tuner setup. I'm not a programmer so I don't know how hard it would be to change this, but it would def. help a lot.
