Default NASIOC, you inspired me...

...to mod my car. If you remember this thread and this one, I was trying to decide which way to go. So I decided on a JDM WRX theme for my car, and started ordering parts.

Mod list:

STi Up-pipe
JDM STi v7 downpipe
JDM Fujitsubo RM01A catback exhaust
Subaru/FHI Red 4-pot front and 2-pot rear brakes ('06 WRX brakes)
Goodridge SS brakelines
Speedline Corse Compte 2 16"*7" wheels
Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S tires
OEM painted sideskirts
OEM RS Foglight covers
JDM OEM rear cup holders
Samco Intercooler Hoses
35% Tint
Black McGard Spline Drive Lug Nuts and Wheel locks

Yet to be installed:

Defi Link 2 60mm Boost gauge
Defi Link 2 Control Unit

I think I'm going to let my checkbook rest for a few weeks, but I think I'm off to a good start. I'm getting a ProTune within a few weeks, so hopefully I'll reach JDM WRX performance numbers as well.

Thank you, NASIOC!

To answer both of your questions at the same time, I got the '06 front and rear WRX brakes from Jaime (SubieGal) at www.SubaruGenuineParts.com. Both are available off the website. For express_wagon, I paid a grand total of $1,481.53 shipped from WA to MD, including all the parts you need. The rear brakes require a new backing plate in place of the stock one and the rotors are larger, so the install is not a straight forward bolt-on, like the fronts. I had a local shop install the front and rears brakes, and I needed to make a second appointment to get the rears done. The shop had to order new wheel bearings, which the kit from SubaruGenuineParts.com does not include.

kcook, if you're planning on getting just the fronts and getting nothing done to the rear, there is going to be some brake bias. Before coming to my second appointment to get the rear brakes done, I drove around with the 4-pot fronts and stock rears and the ABS would kick in under less-than-gradual brake application. I know a lot of people who had 4-pot fronts went with the H6 upgrade for the rears.

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

yep, that was me! I didn't notice your car that night, but hopefully we'll run into each other again over there. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you.

So back in 2007, I traded the WRX Wagon in for 2008 Forester Sports XT in 5-speed flavor. The insurance on the WRX was killing me, and the Subaru Guaranteed Trade-In Program (GTP) really wetted my mouth for a newer car with a bigger sunroof and Aux-In for my iPod. So here it is...

STi top mount intercooler
