My v7 (02JDM) plugged right in, and everything worked immediately.

The DCCD control lights illuminate with the PRNDLL of my automatic transmission too!

The v8 cluster (03JDM/04+USDM) needs some work, I'm told... but IMHO the bugeye STi cluster belongs with the bugeye Impreza...

Its more trouble then its worth. You would also have to get the STi odometer mileage set to your current WRX mileage. You would have to send it out to some guys to do that.

no u dont have to ^^^ that is a personal choice. no the 05 sti cluster will not fit an 02. the only cluster that fits the wrx (02-05) is the 04 sti cluster. the 05 sti cluster only fits in other 05 sti's!

the 05 sti cluster will work with a little platic trimming so i guess its not plug and play but its not the end of the world for you if you buy one

For the second time, the V7 cluster plugs right in, without cutting, splicing, chopping, scraping, dremmelling, swearing or buying other parts to make it fit.

The V8 (04-05) cluster filts, but you have to do the other stuff to make it work. The fascia (the thing that fits on top of the acutal cluster) is different, so you need one of those or some warning lights are covered, you've got to cut wires and grind...

Get a v7 cluster, and it's done in 3 minutes. No guesswork.

the 2004 usdm sti cluster will go in with just cutting 1 wire... I'd say that adds about a minute, tops. And it looks much better than the v7.

A colleague just bought the back parts - white housing, motherboard, gauges - new from Subaru and didn't realize that the fascia was different.

If you buy the complete cluster - from the clear plastic cover to the back white housing - that should be easier...

And if the dealer has done your servicing in the past, you'll be busted - meaning no warranty work whatever - if the new speedometer mileage isn't changed to meet your old speedometer's mileage.
