I'd even place thirds on that. Having driven both and owning a wrx. I think a turbo in the rs would be the prefect solution for you. Plus it makes the rs a sleeper. I think the guys in the mid-a could even reccomend a couple turbo kits.

I fourth that... suggest turbo kits? Blaster makes them... custom made pipes too.. he has a welder... blah...

turbo the RS for $2500, and you save so much... with the extra money you can get even more out of the RS... its a coupe also right?

from riding in both Pipercub's and Blaster's turboed RS's and in many WRX's including my own... the big differences are as such...
the RS's because of their bigger displacement and higher compression ratios pull much lower in the rev range... however because of the gearing the WRXs feel much smoother due to being able to stay in the gears longer... the RS's pull hard but it seems as if you are constantly shifting which makes it a little more rough and violent... I kind of like the way the WRX pulls better because of that but hey I am biased
In terms of looks... well the old body style always looks good... I passed by a 4 door SRP old school RS yesterday (the woman driving it didn't pay me much attention) and as I looked at it in my rearview mirror I thought... "damn, the old school Impreza looks tough"
I go through different phases constantly about the New Age body style... sometimes I think the New Age style looks good and sometimes I just think it's plain ugly... the STi Fog Covers and painted side skirts make mine look less cheap, however I don't have to look at it when I'm driving it

Either way you go, I think you will be happy.

Well said Ixnay, the RS is a more raw experience and the WRX is more refined. I give the RS the preference because I like that raw power feeling. In the case of a man who wants OEM smoothness and refinement the WRX is the choice and it is meant by Subaru to be just that.

i think mav1c said it best the other night at Revo's... that the new WRX's look like pokemon... with their big beedy eyes and the like... dunno... might have been the beer and the lack of food in my stomach that made me agree... hard to say...

Heck, I got the 2002 RS just so I could turbo it. No point in adding to the insurance rate by having a turbo WRX.

I actually tried to get a 2001, but couldn't find what I wanted. I like the old style better. The new style has grown on me and with Morrettes, they look very mean (I will get them some day)
