Default Cobb Catback Review and Sound clip

Installed a Cobb Catback this week. Sounds great, fitment and quality was amazing. Lines up perfectly in the bumper "notch" with the stock hangers. It's also lighter than the stock catback by 10 pounds or so. The car sounds awesome now. You can actually hear the exhaust note now and not just engine roar... It's deep and rumbly, I don't hear the slightest bit of buzz to it even at high rpms. On the freeway with the windows up you hear more road noise than anything else when cruising. Sounds awesome at WOT with the windows down while driving through a tunnel!

It looks a lot bigger in person when you take it out of the box. 3" piping is big! But when you get it on the car it looks tasteful and "stock-like." I am not a fan of close proximity dual tips and if you can fit a grapefruit in your exhaust it's too big for me...

Power increase with a catback is small so I don't really think there is any notable difference. Perhaps a bit like the power difference between a hot humid day and a cool dry night. However now I no longer cringe at the constrictive tinny sound the stock exhaust makes under WOT. But that's all a psychological thing because my cats are still in ther clogging things up.

I have a little video clip i took with my cellphone. The picture is crappy but the sound is halfway decent. You need quicktime to view it, if anyone wants to host it for me that'd be cool. Putfile and streetfire don't seem to work for .3pg files...

P.S. If you're a big guy like me (6'3" 200 plus) jackstands are a must. I tried at first to do it with just ramps, not a chance...

Ok nevermind about the hosting, I found a way to convert .3gp files to .avi.

Here is the clip. It's idle then revved to 2k, 3k, 4k, 5k and then redline. Enjoy...

Figured I might as well put up this clip too. I took this one right after I installed the system and it was still shiny (before I drove around in the rain and got it dirty). Didn't rev it much because the car was cold...

Edit: Yes I was trying to figure out how to stop the phone from recording at the end of that clip...

Cool! Looks and sounds pretty good. It's one of the better recordings I've heard, actually. I have a Cobb DP (catted) installed already and I am expecting the catback to arrive next Tuesday. I'm starting to get excited now...thanks for posting.
